In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Block not workingHello arsah,
I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems getting this working!
There can be a few reasons for this, sometimes people test the plugin, but they are still logged in to their admin account, the check will definitely not work if you are still logged in.
However, if this isn’t the case, other reasons can be that you are using a Caching Plugin, unfortunately these serve a static html version of the sites pages before the php code/WordPress runs, some Caching Plugins have the option to enable something called Late Init which allows things like Proxy & VPN Blocker to run, however understandably this is not something that is often ideal because having a Caching Plugin running late removes benefits of having it in the first place.
Another check you can make is enabling the Debug under PVB Settings > Advanced tab and then going to the PVB Debug page and seeing if it is definitely getting your IP Address and information from the API correctly.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] WordPress Admin Area Crashed because of pluginHello aqua4nations,
I’m not sure on the cause of this, What version of WordPress / PHP are you using? I saw references to another Plugin (ezoic-integration) in the screenshot you submitted. None of your logs make reference to a Proxy & VPN Blocker PHP file. All I can think of at this moment is that there is possibly a conflict with that ezoic plugin.
Either way, you will likely need to log in to the FTP for your site and delete the ‘Proxy & VPN Blocker folder ‘proxy-vpn-blocker’ from wp-content/plugins/
I am sorry that this has happened, unfortunately it is not possible to test against every possible plugin.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] API Key Statistics TimezoneHi Nabeel,
This data in the graph and your query count at the top is tied to your daily queries and is displayed as per the timezone used by proxycheck.io systems which is GMT -7hrs, it is a live snapshot at the moment the statistics page is loaded and the data is pulled from proxycheck.io Dashboard API.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] IP Not Detected as ProxyHi Nabeel,
Any questions relating to API data should be sent to proxycheck.io Support, The Plugin is not affiliated with proxycheck.io and has no way to alter any of the IP Address data provided by them.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Whitelist Google Adsense botHello iobacypher,
The proxycheck.io API whitelists Google IP ranges, there shouldn’t be anything you need to do here for Adsense/Google Search.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Attempted loginsHello kiwihawk,
This would be normal behaviour as a response from the API, unfortunately a lot of people seem to be using Amazon AWS for neferious reasons despite their efforts to prevent that kind of use, however if you would like to discuss this further, I recommend you speak to proxycheck.io Support regarding this.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] It does not workHello cybrfer,
I just tested various pages on your site and it appears to be working for me, even on the blog posts. I get the message “Proxy or VPN Detected – Please disable to access this website!”
Please let me know if you are still having any issues, from what I see you are having normal behaviour.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] I want to whitelist south koreaHello egusplosion,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I was not aware that some country names were incorrect.
I asked proxycheck.io for an up to date list of country names in their supported format, there were several that were incorrect. The list has been updated in 2.0.4.

Hi Kodestar, Apologies for slow reply,
If I understand your query correctly then no, I don’t think that is possible, you can add your registration page to the list of blocked pages and turn off “protect on login/Auth” under the Advanced tab, but that might introduce other issues.
I think I will have to look into this further.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Plug works, then stops workingI have tested Block on Entire Site and it appears to be working normally as far as I can see. At least on my sites.
All I can think of is that you have some caching going on somewhere, possibly server/web host side as you say that there is no Cache Plugin on your site.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Plug works, then stops workingJust to be sure, have there been any other changes to your site recently? Are you using any caching plugin at all?
Are you using a custom block page or the standard block message page? Please also check the Custom Blocked Page option to be sure it is set as intended (empty field if no custom block page), there was an issue in 2.0.0 specifically, that may have selected the first item in the list if none was previously selected.
Thank you,
Rick

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Plug works, then stops workingHello MrOG,
Apologies for the issues you are having, I have PVB running on multiple websites with no issues.
May I ask what the “Remote Visitor IP Header” Option is set to under PVB Settings > Main tab.
also can you please tell me what the result of the “Remote Visitor IP Header” setting is under PVB Debugging page.

Hello Sahil,
1.10.4 has just been released, apologies for taking so long, it has been a busy couple of weeks and I had to do further testing on the Plugin changes.
You can now use “Allow Staff Bypass” on the advanced tab alongside “Protect on Login/Auth” being off. It is really not recommended that anyone uses the option to disable on login/auth but it may be useful for some users such as yourself.
Please let me know if this works for you,
Thank you,
RickHi Sahil,
Thank you for letting me know, I am working on a solution for this now.
Hi Sahil,
I put a check in the code for “Block on Login/Authentication”, if that setting is off and “Block on Entire Site” is on, then it should not now run on wp-login.php.
Please let me know if this helped.
Rick
