In reply to: Comments Settings Changed by ThemselvesI continued to experience this problem until I changed web hosts. I am now with GreenGeeks since August, and the problem is solved. I expect the issue was with poorly coded and maintained databases with my old host, iPower. I DO NOT recommend iPower; Poor customer service and frequent outages.

In reply to: Comments Settings Changed by ThemselvesI am still experiencing this issue. Every few weeks I have to go through page after page of posts in bulk, 300 at a time. Why won’t my comments settings stay where I put them?

In reply to: Comments Settings Changed by Themselves>>deactivating ALL plugins temporarily<<
>>unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment<<This won’t do the trick, since it can sometimes take days or weeks for the problem to show up.
I only use a six plug-ins, and I keep them updated. I had this problem long before I started using them.
Of course…

That won’t tell you much, though, because they look fine once I get them to upload. The problem is on the back end.

In reply to: Comment Settings Change by ThemselvesThis is happening again. Today all my “allow comments” boxes were unchecked, and “users must be registered and logged in to comment” was checked, neither of which I did.

In reply to: Comment Settings Change by ThemselvesSorry to report that this is happening again.

In reply to: Comment Settings Change by ThemselvesIt persisted until the 3.7.1 update. It has not happened since. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

In reply to: Problem with Image captions after 3.7 upgrade3.7.1 now appears in my updates dialog. I did the update on my test blog and it did appear to fix the problem.

In reply to: Comment Settings Change by ThemselvesOnce again, both my global settings and my individual post settings have changed without me changing them. Comments are now closed for posts, and now “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” is checked, and I didn’t check it.
Does anyone know how to bump this topic to WordPress staff?
Thanks.

In reply to: Comment Settings Change by ThemselvesYes, I always save the settings. They will stick for a short amount of time, like a week, then someone will email me saying they suddenly can’t comment or need to be logged in to comment. I’m sure it’s a code error, but where? I have several other blogs installed, same version, same theme, that do not do this.

In reply to: Bug: Comments Settings Change By ThemselvesSorry I don’t have any suggestions, since I have the same problem on my installed WordPress blogs – comment settings changing without my changing them. Often “Allow Comments” will be unchecked even though I checked the box when I posted the item. More recently my global settings were set to “Users must be registered and logged in to comment,” which never selected.
I am replying to this in hope that someone from WordPress will address it.
