In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Meta description missing with 3.03When are they going to fix this again so meta descriptions can be editted. Version 3.3.4 doesn’t work.
It sends email to the user, but not for the admin email.
It’s working on other sites that haven’t been upgraded to 4.4
I will double check the troubleshooting ideas you suggest, but it was working in the past…
You are not alone.
I am no longer receiving admin email notifications.
- I am all up to date on WordPress and plugins.
- Email user notifications is working
- Submissions are working.
- I have tried uninstalling plugins
- I have done similar checks
Isolating the issue
I’ve done further checks, testing other sites where Ninja forms work or don’t work.- It works on sites where all plugins have been updated (inc. Ninja Forms 2.9.29)
- It seems to only stop on those that have been updated to WordPress 4.4.
I suspect this is why it has partially broken.

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] How to apply IE8 fix to Twenty Twelve?Ditch Twenty Twelve and use Twenty Thirteen !
Twenty Twelve was built entirely as responsive which IE8 doesn’t understand. Realising their mistake, Twenty Thirteen isn’t.
Making the parent theme responsive is no use to developers like me who heavily customise child themes so I am glad they have put that behind them.

In reply to: [Firelight Lightbox] Easy Fancybox stopped working after updateHi Ravan
I am using you plugin everywhere, but since the update it’s stopped working for instance on https://www.ambrosedesigns.co.uk/wfp2/ the video on the right no longer opens a video.I am more a cut and paste person when it comes to Jquery. As far as scripting goes i just have this going on in the header
<!–[if lt IE 9]>
<script src=”<?php echo get_template_directory_uri(); ?>/js/html5.js” type=”text/javascript”></script>
<![endif]–><?php wp_head(); ?>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.1/jquery.min.js”>
</script><script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://ambrosedesigns.co.uk/quest/downloads/malsup/cycle/jquery.cycle.lite.1.0.min.js”>
</script>
<script type=”text/javascript”>
$(function()
{
$(“#slides”).cycle();
});
</script>The last one is for an image slider. Will that cause a conflict?
Hope you can help
Richard

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] How to apply IE8 fix to Twenty Twelve?Had a look at my own sites which seem to be between 8-10% over the last 3 months so it’s true, IE8 is almost dead!

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] How to apply IE8 fix to Twenty Twelve?I think w3schools stats are based on traffic from web developers so tending to give a more modern view of browser adoption than general web traffic.
I tend to look at gs.statcounter.com. On saying that, I haven’t looked at the stats for about 9 months and was pleased to see that this fits with w3c figures of 7.1%, suggesting IE8 may well be dead which has made my day.

I will check this is backed up by Google Analytics on my own websites

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] How to apply IE8 fix to Twenty Twelve?Building the default theme and making it not IE8 compatible is totally irresponsible.
I’ve been writing child themes with twenty eleven as the parent theme for the last 18 months. I have had to tell my client that it will take longer than expected to build as i have had to write the IE8 part from scratch. As it’s not his fault I can not charge him for this and as usual it’s the developer who takes the hit on their hourly rate.
The theme is not fit for purpose. Very disappointed. It should make it clear that it does not cater for about 25-30% of all your site visitors.
I will be go back to using twenty eleven as my parent theme in the future.
