I was able to find how to restore the backup and am now back up.

I’m using the WordPress plugin Simple Backup to backup the site prior to any updates, wouldn’t it be easier to restore the backup? Unfortunately I haven’t figured out a way to do that since I can’t sign on to WordPress right now

I was able to get this same issue resolved by getting my hosting site to upgrade the PHP level. If you refer back to this thread you’ll see what level the Flat theme works on

:-(, that didn’t work for me. Still getting same error. Just to make sure I’ve done the ftp correctly, I downloaded the Flat theme to my computer, unzipped it, then ftp’d that back to the server (after I deleted the original flat folder)

So I was getting the same error on line #63 as mentioned above, made the code change as suggested as now the error has moved to line #64:

#63 add_filter( ‘comments_popup_link_attributes’, “return ‘ itemprop=\”discussionUrl”‘;” } ); # schema.org property on comments links

#64 add_filter( ‘current_theme_supports-tha_hooks’, ‘__return_true’ ); # Enables checking for THA hooks

Not sure how I can check the version of PHP or WP as now I can’t get to my hosting site.

Update – removed text widgets and that did resolve the issue. Now I’ll turn my focus on those items. Thanks

Turned out to be the code used in the text widgets (PayPal & Constant Contact). Removed those widgets and now page displays correctly. Guess I’ll have to figure out exactly which one and why its bad now. Thanks

Adding that code caused everything in the left column to display incorrectly (kinda scrunched the contents of the column to shift left) but did nothing to bring the page contents up to the white area. I’ve reverted back to the previous theme for now, which displays correctly. I don’t know CSS to determine what your code means. If you’ve got any other thoughts please let me know.

While I’m sure there’s code that’s not written exactly correctly, when I revert to the previous theme, everything displays correctly. The code found in the text widgets comes directly from PayPal/Constant Contact. Being unfamiliar with HTML code, I wouldn’t venture to try to debug that. Seems like there’s something else that’s preventing the pages from displaying correctly

LOL, ok, yes, adding a widget did get social links out in the sidebar, go figure. Thanks, appreciate your help

Yes, I did add info to that area. I’ve got the Social Links in left sidebar checked and url information in Facebook profile url & LinkedIn profile url. If I could figure out how to insert a screen shot here, I’d add it
