I think we’ve concluded the error is caused by a few of our theme plugins. I will reach out to their support team again. Originally, the theme developer believed it was a WordPress issue.

We are noticing this on multiple versions of WP – 5.7, 5.6.2, 5.1.8

We cannot enable the plugin again on the live site because the 404 happens randomly and it can be days before someone notices it, which we cannot do on this live site.

We do have a staging site where the plugin is enabled but I haven’t seen the 404 issue there yet, even though I have been checking daily.

I have another site where we had w3 plugin installed. A media gallery was not loading. I logged into WordPress and then it loaded for me, but still wouldn’t load for logged out users. I disabled w3 cache and it started loading for logged in users. This seems like a similar issue.

WP Performance Booster was an old plugin that we have since deactivated and deleted
The redirect rules are manual
Gzip is enabled via the panel setting ‘Optimize Website’ (https://docs.cpanel.net/cpanel/software/optimize-website/82/)

We have the plugin disabled so we won’t be able to see any error messages from before the plugin was disabled and caused the issue.

Is there any other kind of support your can offer, or will we need to find an alternate plugin?

No other caching plugin.

How do we enable wp_debug and check the error log? Also since we have the plugin disabled would we not be able to see anything in the log?

I have narrowed it down to the plugin that is causing the error. I have spoken with the themes developer about removing it completely and because it is the core of the theme we cannot so they replied with the following:

“This plugin must have a single event page for the correct layout as for now it is using the theme’s single.php template which meant to be used by the blog posts.

Redux framework is the core of the theme which runs all the theme options and other features/styling. Disabling it can cause other issues. I suggest you to ask the plugin’s developer to provide you with a single event page template which you can use in your child/parent theme.”

Is this something that you all would be able to provide us? We would really like to continue using your plugin as we really love it and its the best one out there.

Where is the list of available parameters. I looked everywhere and found nothing

When replying, please provide complete answers. I am a paying customer and do not have time to go back and forth.

After reading this I tested again and noticed that it only happens when I use the thumbnail template. Do you have an idea of what is causing this and what can I do to fix it.
