In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteAhh okay, it seems it’s a known Jetpack error, so nothing to do with the hack at all, just an annoying coincidence that I picked it up at the same time!!

In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteGreat, thanks WPyogi I’ll try that with Firefox!
With regard to IE, I’ve been doing some research on the error message and it seems its a pretty standard IE error. This is the blurb from Microsoft on it….
If you receive a message in the Notification bar telling you that some content isn’t secure, then the webpage is displaying content using both HTTPS and HTTP web server connections. HTTP (without the “S”) transactions might not be secure.

Very odd as I don’t have any ecommerce set up within the site at all! Strange that its only started since the problems but I will continue and see what I can find out!
Thanks again for everythingForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteHi WPyogi
Sorry I should’ve updated this.
That bit does seem to be sorted now thanks but I do seem to be having a few oddisms still!
Changes I make via Firefox on my Mac don’t seem to be registering all that well, however they work perfectly when I do them via IE on my PC.
And I’ve noticed I’ve started getting a security warning in IE saying that only secure content is displayed with an option to display all content…..This has only started since all the reinstall yesterday.
Any ideas what might be causing these gremlins?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteOk, so thanks to you guys I’m virtually back to where I was with the site fully functioning again! Thank you so much for all your help.
There’s just one unsolved mystery for me lol. And that’s the footer of the site. When I view the site it has the standard WP footer on display but my uploaded child footer file should be this instead
<?php /** * The template for displaying the footer. * * Contains footer content and the closing of the * #main and #page div elements. * * @package WordPress * @subpackage Twenty_Twelve * @since Twenty Twelve 1.0 */ ?> </div><!-- #main .wrapper --> <footer id="colophon" role="contentinfo"> <center> <p>© <?php echo date("Y"); ?> Aviva Hair, Beauty & Wellbeing Centre</p> <p>Site Design by <a href="https://jojofield.com" target_"blank">JojoField Design</a></p></center> </footer><!-- #colophon --> </div><!-- #page --> <?php wp_footer(); ?> </body> </html>
I cannot work out why I cannot get this to display.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
Jo

In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteOMG I’ve just twigged what it is!!! So sorry!!
It’s where I’ve reinstalled the child theme again I’d left spaces in the folder title for Aviva Child Theme. It was only when I noticed the path you’d typed above WPyogi that I suddenly thought of it!
Sorry again and thanks so much for all your help!

In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteOk so I’ve had to strip it right back and start again ?? Not a big problem, was easier than I thought it might be, however I’ve experienced a hitch…..
I’ve reinstalled WordPress, deleted and reinstalled all my plugins, put my child theme back up but my layout has all disappeared! It’s almost as if it can’t find the stylesheet but the path hasn’t changed at all.
Is it anything obvious that I’m missing?
Thanks!

In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteOk, just tried that but when I view source code on the site again that code is still there
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteOkay I’ve been through and deactivated each plugin one at a time, checking the source code after each one to see if that code disappears but even when I had deactivated every plugin so none were turned on at all the coding was still there.
Are you able to suggest what I should try next please?
Many thanks
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteAh okay, so basically deactivate plugins one at a time to see when that bit of code disappears.
Sorry for not understanding ??
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteI did try that first thing but it didn’t seem to fix the site at all even disabling all plugins.
I can’t work out how to find that code to remove it, which file do I need to edit please?

In reply to: HELP – Broken WebsiteNo I didn’t! EEEKK!
Is that likely to be something dodgy in a script that’s put that there? Will try deleting it now
Thank You !Forum: Fixing WordPress
