Just to update, it would seem the issues I was having were server issues, Having now swapped my sites to a new server Jetpack seems to install, update and run correctly.
Thanks for your help
Simon
HI Jeremy
(sorry for the delay in reply) I have had the issue with a couple of other plugins but not all of them, I was also having another issue with Jetpack (causing problems with my site loading) and thought therefore that was the cause, however that seems to have been fixed. I am currently exploring with my hosting provider the possibility of migrating to a different server.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks
I have reinstalled onto a test site I have for this kind of thing and so the screen grab is here https://snag.gy/hGIdW3.jpg
Hope this helps
Many thanks
Simon
This is the buzzer thing, I don’t get a 404 or anything like that, I get a box at the top of the plugins management page (with red lines down the side) and a failed to install message somewhat like the one in the first post. I will see if one of my other sites (it happens on all which are all with the same hosting company and package) has an update and take a screen grab.
Thanks
Simon
Hi Jeremy, I can but as the page that has this problem is in the editing area of WordPress and a refresh gets rid of the message and shows Jetpack to have installed I’m not sure what help it will be?
Thanks
It would seem there is a clash with something in Jetpack, I had had some problems with this on another site and disabling Jetpack had fixed it, thought I would try that here and galleries seem to be working fine now. don’t know if this is a clash between the two or just a problem Jetpack is creating?
I seem to be having similar problems, only just building a new site and liked the look of FooGallery so trying it, first gallery not a problem, second would not display, wondered if it was size of gallery (49 images) tried deleting a few got it to work at 30, next day not working again, now first gallery also stoped with only 13 images. Tried resetting HTML and CSS cache and still not working. I would like to use foo gallery but at the moment when still building site tempted to go somewhere else and certainly not keen to pay!
Just to add it’s not just the gallery that doesn’t work, it seems to stop the side bar, everything after the page title (no footer displayed either)
website: https://www.notashamed.co.uk/galleries (this page currently not in menu while building)
