In reply to: Random bolding?Hey Naz, looks like it’s your lot to help me out with these things, eh? ?? Many thanks as always. However, since I am still a newbie on all of this…validating brought back four errors, but I must admit to having no idea how to fix them. To begin with, I’m not even sure what document within my page they’re referring to. I’d be grateful for any further assistance…
The website URL is https://www.furtherreview.net, btw.

In reply to: How do I change the front page header picture? Thanks very much…that did indeed do it. I’ll have to play around a bit with the banner picture (it’s a bit too distorted for my tastes, a function of having to resize it), but I should be able to tweak it properly. Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: How do I change the front page header picture?URL is https://www.furtherreview.net. Also, I need to resize the picture to the width and height of the header, which I’m not sure just replacing the file would allow me to do. In any case, thanks in advance for the help!

In reply to: Archive and Sidebar Widgets?Fixed. The problem was that the theme I was using (Yaletown) had a line referring to “the_archive” instead of “the_content”–so that clicking on the archive button was bringing the page back to itself (which, of course, had nothing on it). The sidebar widget was pointing to the right place, but in that place was a bogus definition.
Thanks anyway!

In reply to: Blank main page after installation…Just so everyone knows, switching to Linux fixed this problem. Still some kinks to work out in the program, but at least it is now functioning. Thanks to all who helped!

In reply to: Blank main page after installation…One other thing–I use GoDaddy, and I have just (after reading even more of the threads here) had them switch my hosting server to a Linux based system…perhaps that will work. In the meantime, though, any further assistance for us Windows-server types would be most appreciated…

In reply to: Blank main page after installation…Okay…there doesn’t appear to be an .htaccess file anywhere in the site. After doing what you suggested, the PHP version popped up as 4.3.11.

In reply to: Blank main page after installation…I tried the commenting out suggestion with no luck. As for the rest, at the risk of being labelled as incredibly dense (I really just want to get this website working…I’m hardly an expert at all of this, I’m afraid, though I have some computer knowledge), where would I find the .htaccess file, the webserver logs, or the php version information?
Thanks for the assistance…
