    Hi there,

we are a bit confused about the “Last Updated” column.
For some users we have a “Never” in the “Last Login” column, but a timestamp in the “Last Updated” column – or vice versa.

We want to delete inactive users, but we are now not sure which ones are inactive and which ones aren’t.

Can you explain to me the difference between “Last Login” and “Last Updated” and how the timestamps are generated?

    Thanks so much,
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

Thank you for using When Last Login.

If the Last Login column shows “Never” this could mean that the user hasn’t logged in yet since installing When Last Login. Another issue that could be happening with login information not tracking is that a custom login form is being used, and doesn’t run the default wp_login hook so data isn’t being tracked correctly.

The “Last Updated” column isn’t part of When Last Login and may be coming from elsewhere. I’m assuming this column is for when the user was last updated (their profile) – I’m not sure if an admin editing the user would modify this. I recommend reaching out to the plugin authors or developer that setup the Last Updated column functionality.

I hope this helps get you started.
