    Hello Christine,

I have checked webmaster tools and although i had a few crawl errors a couple of months back, they are gone now.

I do think this is a wordpress issue. I know the niche I’m in is competitive but i had already a couple of keywords on the #1 spot in Google. For some reason my categories are showing up ahead of my posts when i view my site when using “site:https://naturalremedies-for.com/”

I have another 2 sites that this doesn’t happen on and they are ranking fine, even though they have less links and haven’t been updated in a while. The two sites that have been affected both had issues with permalink structure due to a faulty plugin and since i resolved these issues they haven’t recovered.

Both these sites show categories ahead of posts, both had issues with permalinks and both have rankings that plummeted. This was 3 months ago and still no recovery.

If my categories are showing up before my main posts even though my posts have a lot of links to them, does this mean that my “posts” have no value now in the eyes of Google? Even though they were doing very well in the serps for a while.

I know it seems like a simple change in the search rankings but both sites have good links to them and all unique content. It’s too much of a coincidence that both of these sites were hit the same and have had issues in the past.

I cannot even change a theme on these two sites without duplicate page titles showing up.

Thanks for your reply Christine. I may need to pay someone to have a look at them. There has to be a coding error or something.

Finally!! I can’t thank you enough Chip. Fair play to you for staying with this and helping me out. This is a big weight off the old shoulders ??

Thanks again, very much appreciated. Have a wonderful day.

    Hey Chip,

I just changed my theme, if you go to my website you can see the duplicate title at the top of your browser. Even when you click on a post, you’ll see the title is messed up.

Thanks again for your help Chip.

oh i see Chip, that was my fault, should have noticed the question mark at the end of your reply.

I just tried twenty eleven theme and the problem is still there.

    Just as a note:

I have a static homepage with the title “natural health remedies” .. i have a feeling this could be causing an issue, but when i took it off “static” and just had my recent posts as the homepage, the problem is still there, so I’m not so sure. just thought I’d mention it.

If it would help any, i could change my theme so you can see how the duplicate titles show up.

I just disabled them all to see if there would be any changes. I then activated them one by one. They are all active now and i have never used the Twenty Eleven Theme Chip.

The “amazing grace” theme is the only one that doesn’t cause this issue. That’s the theme I’m using at the moment. The problem is that it is on all my websites.

    Hey Chip,

I have the following plugins installed:

    Broken Link Checker
    Contact Form 7
    Google Analytics for WordPress
    Google XML Sitemaps
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu
    Simple 301 Redirects
    W3 Total Cache
    WordPress SEO
    Select WP Smush.it

I have already disabled all of them but nothing has changed.

    Thanks for reply..

I’m back, and i still can’t get to the root of this problem. When i change my permalink structure to “/%category%/%postname%/” the url i get errors in Google with, the rest of my links don’t work because they are still directed to the permalink format “/%postname%/” .. now i know this is obvious and i just have to redirect those url’s to the new structure.

The problem is though, it won’t redirect and i get a warning saying….

“Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/retsced/public_html/naturalhealthremediesite.com/wp-includes/query.php:2746) in /home/retsced/public_html/naturalhealthremediesite.com/wp-content/plugins/permalink_redirect-2.0.5/ylsy_permalink_redirect.php on line 423

Any more suggestions would be great guys, this is really getting to me now. Anyways, off to bed now, haven’t really slept in last two days. All the best, and thanks again for your help Pankaj, i really appreciate it.

    Thank you.

Thanks for your reply Pankaj, but i don’t think it’s a specific link that is causing the problem.

The following message is on all of my websites…

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/retsced/public_html/naturalremedies-for.com/wp-includes/query.php on line 2746

Although I’m sure it’s a permalink problem, i need to fix the above warning message as all my rankings dropped and i got the crawl errors at the same time this warning message appeared in my dashboard on all 4 of my websites.

One of my sites has 76 articles on it but i haven’t got it set up in webmaster tools, i cringe to think how many crawl errors that site has ??
    Altogether
