Hi there,
It’s Adrian from reSmush.it!
The issue in this scenario seems to be that the REST API is not working on your website anymore, so external CURLs are not working either which make you unable to use the image optimization feature.
This can also be observed in WP-Admin > Tools > Site Health
Unfortunately, this is not something we can fix from our end as it’s not related to our servers and would need to be fixed from your end. When the REST API is working again, everything should be back to normal and you should be able to optimize images with WP Optimize or reSmush.it
If you need more assistance regarding this issue please reach out to us at https://resmush.it/contact/

Hi there,
WP Optimize is using the reSmush.it API for image optimization. Our network provider had some temporary issues last night which caused intermittent issues with two of our servers located in the same datacenter while all the others worked fine, but this was fixed in the meantime.
Could you please check if you still encounter any issues? If you still encounter the same error, please make sure that Germany is not blocked in any firewall and contact us using https://resmush.it/contact/ so we can continue the investigation.
All the best,
Indeed ??
Hi @daverobinsonpw,
Thanks for your message, we’ve updated the plugin’s page, it will arrive soon online.
Thanks to our extraordinary community, we’ve reached the first step of our financial project : https://www.patreon.com/posts/first-step-whats-90966000 But we’ll need more participations to make things even better !

Charles
Hi @pagevalleynews ,
Currently, we do not want to create plans for the API, and we’d like to keep it free as much as possible. Creating plans, will require complex developments. So we just ask for community’s generosity to maintain the service available. Feel free to contribute through our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/resmushit

Charles
Hi @pagevalleynews,
That’s not exactly what is written on our plugin. reSmush.it is providing for free until now, but server costs have increased, and we cannot afford this amount unless our community can help and participate through Patreon. If we succeed in collecting enough per month, we’ll continue the API. If not, we’ll have to reconsider the current position of reSmush.it, and maybe shutdown the service.
Feel free to participate, all help is greatly appreciated !

Charles, founder of reSmush.it.PS: our website is not yet updated, it’ll be soon.
Hi @zoptimus
reSmush.it plugin will support only .jpg/png/gif files. So if in your library, there’s other filetypes, they won’t be counted in the statistics. Let us know!

CharlesHi guys,
Are you sure you’ve never used the option “Do not preserve backups” ? Because, if you do so, it’s a totally expected behavior.
Regards,
CharlesHi @alanmosko ,
This is not the goal of the plugin. It will preserve your original picture to avoid loose it. If you want to resize your original picture before, there’s many plugins that will do that ??

CharlesHello @harshitmediatrenz
It has nothing related to reSmush.it Plugin. Here the error seems to come from your plugin instagram-slider-widget. If you disable this plugin, you’ll see that everything will run perfectly.

Charles
Hi @rrestani,
The restore button is functional only if you’ve preserved backup. Make sure that the “Do not preserve backup” was unticked, and has never been ticked. If it was, you may have lost the high quality copy of your original assets :/

Charles
