  • Are you able to access SSH? If so, you can use ‘top’ (without quotes) to check what processes are eating up the most resources. If not, perhaps contact your web hosting provider and ask them if there’s an issue that hasn’t been addressed yet.

    When conducting a backup, you need to backup both the files/directories as well as the MySQL Database which all settings, posts, pages and information about your install are stored.

    If you didn’t backup the MySQL Database, you can try to contact your old host and see if they have a backup they can provide you with, otherwise it will, unfortunately, have to be a lesson learned [the hard way].

    Seems to be an issue with both 2.9.x & 3.0. We stopped & disabled the Firewall (CFS) though to no avail, updating a post or a page doesn’t work. I’m a bit clueless.

    We’ve started using the default theme on both, no modifications, no plug-in’s. RAM has been increased to 2GB, CPU to 3.2GHz and we’re still either timing out, or there’s a problem elsewhere.
