The Gateway theme on wordpress.COM was made by wordpress.COM. They adapted my theme and released it there so the features are different. Also, some of the features they have there are only available there as they have also customized the WordPress installation too.

Have you tried disabling all active plugins and trying again? Seems like there is a potential conflict.

When you are changing CSS, please be sure to add “!important” so that it overrides the default CSS. Here is an example based on your CSS above:

.site-content {
margin-top: 4.5em !important;
}
