In reply to: 2.5 admin backend annoyingSo has anyone tried the new update? 2.5.1?
I used the hacks from Jabecker, and the no-flash-upload plugin from Otto42’s post. My edit pane looks very good now. and I can add media now. the drafts are at the top on write page. the ‘View this Post’ on right is the preview, takes you to new window or tab.https://blog.talesofkingtut.com/2008/04/26/wordpress-251-update-again/
Too much useless/rehash posting in this topic like Otto said. there are some good solutions here, but very tedious to have to scroll and page your way to the answers.
I’d request those who have come up with solutions to start a new topic and list them and where to get the zips or plugins to fix your edit pages. suggest: “Users solutions to WordPress 2.5 problems”Puhlease!

In reply to: Please Re-evaluate hosting listYou could try my host.
Web hosting services by SiteGroundThey are not bad, mostly up, some good support, even some of their ‘paid’ services free when you demand it. Lots of tutorials, and a forum.

In reply to: Post Preview still not working in 2.5.1Oh, the preview button is there, right at the top on the right. You don’t even have to save to use it. And your preview window will update with the reload button on your browser. Course I’m using Camino browser now, since yesterday, on my Mac. So much smoother. doesn’t presume to alter your code like Firefox sometimes does.
It does load Preview in new window or tab, no popup. but I did use the no_flash_popup plugin to get my Media add to work. There is a sweet hack for the write/edit panel by a knitter of all things. Gets some of that stuff from the bottom back up to the right.
Good luck, Penny PRené

In reply to: I really need another optionNo matter what anyone says, any kind of CMS is not easy for anyone who is not an expert/nerd. and even they have problems. Good luck in your search.
Just google for CMS and blog programs. check out their sites, their demos and their forums. Takes time, but you might get lucky.
As far as WordPress being simple, it was. then came updates, and problems with each one. I can totally relate to your frustration.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: 2.5 – How to insert images in posts/pages?Hey, Otto42! The no-flash-uploader plugin worked on my WordPress 2.5 like a charm. Now I can access my Media and upload or browse uploaded pics, and insert them in my posts again. It now pulls up a popup panel instead of a flash that doesn’t work.
thanks, much for your ‘Sticky on Image/Media Upload problems’
I’m too chicken to try a manual upload. I’m afraid that deleting files will kill the blog, just a mental block. I’m a bad Fantastico dependent.

In reply to: Upgrade to v2.2.1 stops widgets from workingUpgrades are a PAIN!
I have the same problem, using either Tigopedia 1.0 and Tigopedia Reloaded.Gave up and switched to another theme, since no recent upgrades or other comments made to the author’s Sizlopedia site regarding this issue.
It’s a pain to also hunt for new themes that you might like and that are not overloaded with pre-set ads.

So the publish problem is also solved.

In reply to: Sidebar Widget and WordPress 2.2- fatal errorWell, I found that out.
But still can’t use it, my theme doesn’t support them.
And after all these recent problems, I’m not willing to make the changes to the theme that are recommended.
I can include boxes on my sidebar with scripts in them with wpads. It does eliminate the possible use of many widget plugins. Oh, well.

In reply to: Dashboard News Feed Not WorkingDashboard feeds disappeared again when I activated the Bad Behavior plugin.
When I deactivated Bad Behavior, got the ‘cannot open page’ message, first time, redid the deactivation, and my Safari crashed.
After restarting, and pulling browser and WordPress back up, and the Dashboard, found that the plugin had been deactivated, but had to reload the Dashboard a couple times before it pulled up the news feeds without errors.
That may have been a Safari cache problem, as I did not empty it this time.
Any way, progressing thru plugins one at a time and checked the page on what plugins are compatible with version 2.2, found Bad Behavior was not listed.
Also noticed the WP_CACHE plugin is not working properly. So need to check on configurations.
I couldn’t find that, so (?)Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Edit and save problems with Upgrade to 2.2Okay, Now, can edit and save posts, still have one issue, but that may also be resolved.
please see this discussion Dashboard Posts
if you are having the same problems.
the modifications to the .htaccess file resolved most of these issues.

In reply to: Dashboard News Feed Not WorkingThis solution has resolved the Dashboard feeds problems AND the save edit “can’t open the page” problems.
See this discussion: Dashboard Posts
I still have one issue left. The publish new post one. But… strangely now that Dashboard and save edits works, my Dashboard says the post I have been trying to publish is scheduled in 10 hours.
but the changes to the .htaccess file have resolved most of this.
