Okay – so this is what happens:

WHAT I HAVE
Gutenberg version Version 3.7.0
Wordpress version version 4.9.8–en_ZA
Nirvana theme version 1.4.5.1
Chrome browser Version 69.0.3497.81 (Official Build) (32-bit)
Windows 7 Pro machine
Sucuri firewall

WHAT I DID
Activated Gutenberg plugin.
Opened new post.
Typed in test headline, test content.
Hit save draft.
Said updating failed – pink strip across the top of the page.
But then seemed to do a bunch of autosaving – icon at the top changed.
In the post list, it says Auto Draft – but doesn’t have the content which I inputted – so it seems to fail to capture the content but then go into an autosave loop.

What it says in the console:

Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://safehands.co.za/wp-admin/post.php?post=2089&action=edit’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure favicon ‘https://safehands.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/cropped-Logo001NEW-1-192×192.jpg’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Hi there – thanks so much for getting back to me. The JSON thing is clearly a bug that will get resolved I am sure. The fact that I can’t seem to save a post though is a show stopper. You can’t use a CMS if you can’t actually save your work.

The plug-in worked!

I think I may have figured this out myself – just saw a previous thread about problems with mobile display. Have downloaded a plug in (WordPress Mobile pack). Will play with that and see how it works.
