Thanks! Amazon told me using that kind of link is not allowed (I’m supercautious, I’ve heard of people getting banned in general) – I didn’t mention you or the plugin, don’t worry, I just asked if I could use an image link, they said I had to use sitestripe. But i learned how to do it elsewhere (reddit post below) – in the sitestripe image ‘link’ you have to pull out a line of code after src=” and ending at en_us and change a number within the link (the part that says Format=_SL250 or sl whatever number) to 500 to change the size. below is the reddit post i found that showed it.

do you know if there is a way to add additional gallery images using FIFU? now i can put in one image great through woocommerce using FIFU.

so I tried putting in an amazon URL, for example: https://www.amazon.com/PicassoTiles-Educational-Electronic-Recording-Different/dp/B07MVRL8CF
instead of using sitestripe into FIFU field on the product page, but that didn’t work – it was loading unsplash images. Is there some other format I’m supposed to try writing it in? Thank you!

oh thanks @marceljm – it’s good to know other people think AA service is no good.

I’m not as concerned with an image stopping working than amazon banning my account for doing something wrong. But if you haven’t heard of anyone getting banned, that’s cool! AA Support said using just that line of code (to pull out the image) from within the whole image code they generate is ok. and sent it to me in writing so hopefully that would cover me in case they ever tried to shut down my account

do you mean you talked to AA about integrating their website with FIFU to get better pictures? For that you’d have to request someone higher up than a customer service rep. In my experience with companies, even when it is painfully obvious to you and the rep that they don’t know what they are talking about and don’t know how to help you and they SHOULD transfer you to a higher up, they don’t. You have to specifically ask. I’ve spoke with some reps at other companies who tell me they are trained not to transfer to a higher up unless you ask.

But it seems like amazon is intentionally not making the program ideal for people (hence why so many people need FIFU, thanks for making it!), so I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t interested, but you could try a higher up. I am even surprised woocommerce doesn’t offer a field like FIFU puts in, since they have the option to click that something is an affiliate. So I’m grateful you’ve made this plugin, thank you so much.

From my knowledge, never someone lost his account for doing that.” – oh wow so they’re not even using sitestripe, just the amazon link! I didn’t think of that. Not sure if it’s against amazon’s terms of service but it’s a good idea to consider.

what you pasted turned out to be the bit not just after src, but after src=” I tried so many different permutations (including and not including the quote, including and not including the equal sign, not including the // etc. nothing was working until // was the beginning. now i think it works!

thanks to you. hopefully amazon doesn’t give me beef about using this – i think the reason they want me to use link instead of downloading images from their site is not just bc of copyright, but also if the image changes, without that link it wont be up to date…so with the trick you taught me, if the merchant changes their image of the product on the amazon page, do you happen to know if this line you showed me how to get to input into FIFU will update the image?

You are so kind to do this. Yes I did the same thing before writing to you that it didn’t work, and had put amazon’s site stripe image affiliate link there (i threw a link below as an example). That field you are pointing to then returned totally different unsplash images, not the product link. someone else wrote in their support page it wasn’t working and they said for woocommerce you need pro, and it says that on their sales page too. but i had tried anyway ??

for example, here is a link taken from amazon’s sitestripe, i can’t just use a regular link bc this one contains affiliate info:

The plugins I tried didn’t work – the one you linked to I tried before seeing your response and they say only pro works with woocommerce, and I may have like 20 sites so I’m hunting for a free solution.

Just starting out with wordpress and woocommerce and I’m surprised these basic features aren’t integrated.

Good to know about the other option. It adds an extra step and since I may have multiple websites, I’m looking for something simpler.

Thanks for the options though. I’m in a bad mood because there have been so many basic features I’ve had to download plugins for with woocommerce (eg open product link in new tab and no follow, grid that shows excerpt etc) and I’m tired of hunting for every little thing I need – basic features. But I do appreciate your help and these are possible options. Still hunting to see if there’s anything easier but so far no luck.

Thanks, I disconnected it and resigned in and granted access to the website I’m setting up using my personal email. but now in the site kit dashboard in WordPress, it says “Data error in Analytics
User does not have sufficient permissions for this profile.” my site is not live yet, but it did not say this last time when i had signed up using the different email address…any idea what I’m doing wrong?

you had mentioned “you should check the previously connected Analytics property to ensure your personal Google account has access.” maybe this is the answer, but I have no idea what you’re talking about. so confused.

I had signed up for sitekit a year ago and didn’t write the login email address and pw anywhere. I didn’t develop the site for a year. Now I’m back and sitekit gave me a notification that i had to update it bc the URL is now HTTPs instead of HTTP. at the time i wrote the post, I assumed my sitekit login was [email protected], and it wasn’t working – but after i wrote this post, i figured out that last year i had created [email protected] to set up this sitekit account. at the time, i didn’t know i could just use my personal gmail. so mydomain@gmail, the email address i had used to create this account, worked to login after i posted this.

i wish i had asked this question a year ago and just used my own gmail address as the site kit login so i could use it for everything!! I’ll do that moving forward.

so i was just able to login in and set it up with mydomain@gmail before i read this! now …do u know how i can switch the email address on sitekit from mydomain@gmail to [email protected]? i might as well fix this ASAP. sorry for all these stupid questions.
