@shaped-pixels, I removed the footer menu widget and my three menu entries disappeared.

If the .site-footer is a container with margin then the #303030 color is the background of the entire page?

Color for the footer background and text is in place. White ground, gray text.

Yes, I’m logged into FB, yes I’ve authorized, yes. I’ve uninstalled this plugin because it simply did not work.

You’re right that the Jetpack is too much for a simple Facebook push.

I was mostly poking through all the plugins that said they could post to Facebook but kept having issues with either the photo or the correct page. Yes, logged into FB.

I’ll check the Hootsuite plugin out. Thanks for the tip!

Nope, still no sitemap. I’ll have to start looking for something else to generate the xml. Any suggestions for a plugin that works?

Yes, it works. Picks a random photo and unfortunately it doesn’t bring over the photo attribution.

I’ll turn it off for now and just post to FB manually.

I came here thinking that I might be able to use this plugin. Apparently not.

I’ve been searching for a simple plugin that will push my WordPress posts out to my Business Facebook page using the first picture from the post and do this when I say “Go” i.e. not automatically.

You would think this would be straightforward but no. Plugins I’ve downloaded all have issues like using a random photo or not being able to use my Business page and insisting on my Personal page or not being able to control whether I push the post or not.

Wading through each plugin’s private vocabulary, quirks, and non-documentation is time consuming and fruitless. And Github and forks? Really? This WP newbie can barely get a blog post published.

Isn’t there a plugin that works on a late model WP (4.1.1) that can push out a selected post from my blog correctly? I would be thrilled if someone could point me in the right direction. I’ve searched and am coming up nil.

I’ve discovered something over on the Facebook side that might shed some light on this but is not a solution.

Apparently when a third party accesses Facebook, as in this case, FB gives the app a choice as to which photo picking method to use. One of those methods is “Let FB pick.” Others are “First photo”, “Specify a photo”, etc.

This is just a guess on my part that the SMF plugin did not specify which photo and FB is happily choosing any ol’ thing.
