thank you so much, it was the twenty eleven theme extensions plug in that made the side bar appear. i really need this plug in to customise my blog, so am guessing i wont be able to have a showcase page because of this?

also, when i do have a showcase page, i dont seem to be able to have just small snippets of the blog posts (not the featured posts at the top). I have the long full post before you get to the next blog to click on. What I’d really like is to be able to see several snippets of posts down the page so that you can click on them to read. dont know if this makes sense….kind of hard to explain! And also irrelevant if I cant use the showcase page!

hi thanks for your reply. i’m hopefully having a wordpress pro friend having a look for me, but no i dont think I’ve submitted to google webmaster nor am i using any seo plugins. i’ll look into it, thanks.

i deactivated the plugin i had installed for social media. it didnt seem to like it, so it works now.

thanks. panic as i have no time to sit and go through all this, have a toddler and limited time-and its all rather gobbledygook to me too! may just delete entire blog? ?????

hi thanks, yes i had looked at this before. do i need to click through ‘trac ticket 6842’ to find the answer? if so, could you explain in slightly easier terms what i need to do to fix it because it makes no sense to me what they are all saying! thank you
