    Thank you so much for the clear breakdown of troubleshooting steps! My theme released an update today and I went ahead and updated first – and that resolved it (so the issue was clearly theme related).

    But thank you again for walking me through it – I really appreciate it. I’m going to save this thread, because this is a great starting point for future issues.

    Albert – Thank you!

    1. After updating, I was still experiencing the same issue. However, in the update report I saw that it was supposed to fix an error when the “Skip previously imported customers and orders” was checked. I went back and saw that this box was checked for me, so I unchecked it. The system then allowed me to re-sync the database, and that caught all the missing orders. Just wanted to give that update for you and/or anyone else who experiences this issue.

    2 & 3. I haven’t received any other database error messages or experienced any other issues since the update, so hopefully this is all resolved. I’ll let you know if I do!

    Thanks for your help,
    Rebecca

    My apologies – I searched for a separate forum for it, and couldn’t find it. I’ll post in the correct place now. Thanks!

    Thank you – I am contacting my theme support to see if they can help. I did customize the email and have it saved under my child theme. Line 28 reads:

    “<p><?php printf( __( “Hello – we wanted to let you know that your recent order on %s has been completed. When you receive your order, please”

    Can you see the error? The full section of code is:

    “<p><?php printf( __( “Hello – we wanted to let you know that your recent order on %s has been completed. When you receive your order, please take a second to rate the products at https://www.lavenderconnection.com, and we’ll send you a coupon code for 10% off your next purchase! We sincerely value your feedback. Thank you for your business, and we hope to see you again soon! Your order details are shown below for your reference:”, ‘woocommerce’ ), get_option( ‘blogname’ ) ); ?></p>”

    Shoot – I created a really long reply above and thought I had submitted it, but I guess there was a glitch. Here we go again:

    @whileimgone – That method didn’t work for me unfortunately.

    However: the workaround that I used is this. I created a new page with a new title, and selected it as the “blog” page for my posts to appear. This new page is working fine, with no taxonomie issues. I didn’t delete the old page, in case @amboutwe wants to research the issue (since others are experiencing problems as well.)

    Do you have any must use or drop in plugins? If yes, does removing these help?
    MUST USE

    Endurance Browser Cache Version 0.4
    Endurance Page Cache Version 0.6
    SSO
    – The only one of these plugins that I can disable is “Endurance Page Cache” – disabling it did not resolve the issue.

    DROP IN
    install.php
    – I cannot disable this

    Can the issue be reproduced in a new install? If so, please provide the steps. – I am not sure what you mean by this.

    amboutwe – Yes, as I mentioned a few comments ago:

    “I also switched to the 2017 theme and followed the same steps (deactivated all plugins, then only activated Yoast). The error disappeared when Yoast was deactivated, and reappeared when it was activated – same as with my current theme.”

    Just to be safe, I tried this again, with the same result. I switched to the 2017 theme, and the error was still there. I deactivated all of my plugins, and the error disappeared. I activated only Yoast, and the error reappeared.

    Thanks for your reply. I have set my Titles & Metas in Yoast, and as I mentioned, they are working correctly on all other pages of my site. Here is what I have set for the following:

    Posts: %%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%
    Pages: %%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%

    The blog page is a page, and should default to the “Pages” setting, correct? I have also gone in and adjusted the meta description within the Yoast settings on the blog page itself. I have it set:

    SEO Title: For the Love of Lavender | A Sequim Lavender Farm Blog

    It shows correctly on the page and within the snippet provided by Yoast – but it is obviously not updating within the html of the site. I also find it odd that the twitter:title is showing up with the same mistake – I do not link to or reference Twitter on the blog page, except the social media links that are in the footer (and the footer works and there are no twitter:title errors on any other page of my site.)

    Thanks for your help!

    Hey! I’m looking for help with this same issue – would you be willing to share the CSS you used to hide this message? Thanks!

    Thread Starter rebeccaolson

    (@rebeccaolson)

    Sorry – I forgot to add that I also switched to the 2017 theme and followed the same steps (deactivated all plugins, then only activated Yoast). The error disappeared when Yoast was deactivated, and reappeared when it was activated – same as with my current theme.

    Thread Starter rebeccaolson

    (@rebeccaolson)

    Thank you amboutwe – the code is specifically within the Yoast plugin html (I should have made that clear in my original post).

    Just to be sure, I deactivated all plugins, and the html disappeared. When I activated Yoast (as the only plugin) the error re-appeared. I checked the other pages on my site, and the Yoast html on those pages is correct. So the error is only on the blog page, and is directly related to Yoast.

    Any ideas for what could be causing this? If not, can someone explain where to manually edit this code within my WordPress files? I’ve included the entirety of the Yoast html/section below, or you can view it yourself if you go to the page with the error: https://www.lavenderconnection.com/for-the-love-of-lavender

    Thanks!

    UPDATE: I have contacted my host and updated the php file (to 7.1.12), and it did not resolve the issue. There are no other outdated files or issues showing on my system status page.

    I also forgot to add that I’m running the most updated versions of WordPress (4.7.4) and Woocommerce (3.0.4)

    Thread Starter rebeccaolson

    (@rebeccaolson)

    Mike –

    Unfortunately, with the recent update to Woocommerce the code is no longer functioning properly (I’ve included the code below.) When in a category or subcategory, when you click on a product it still takes you to the individual product page (which is what I want.) However, it *also* adds the product to the cart – which I do not want. Can you help with this?

    Note: I am getting an error notification from WooCommerce that some of my theme files are out of date – it appears that what is out of date is the PHP file: “5.4.43 – We recommend a minimum PHP version of 5.6.” I am contacting my host (per the instructions) to see if they will update – could this be the issue?

    My website is https://www.lavenderconnection.com

    The original code that we added to functions.php (that used to work successfully):
    //change button in category view to go to product description rather than add to cart

    add_filter( ‘woocommerce_product_add_to_cart_url’, ‘custom_woocommerce_product_add_to_cart_url’, 10, 2 );

    function custom_woocommerce_product_add_to_cart_url( $url, $product ) {

    if ( $product->is_type( ‘simple’ ) ) {
    $url = get_permalink( $product->id );
    }
    return $url;
    }

    Oh god, thank you @consultant1027! That worked!

    Assupport – it didn’t work the first time I tried it. I opened a different browser and it worked there – perhaps that will work for you?
