Does your theme contain a full width template? You should be able to override the default template on individual pages and posts.

Are you looking to protect an entire site, or only specific content?

For specific content, it may be best to consider a service like MailChimp, Constant Contact, ConvertKit, etc. Those will let you manage your list as well as set up autoresponder campaigns.
