In reply to: Best Way to Migrate a Few Posts?Won’t that cause there to be duplicate data? (sorry I’m a bit of a newbie with the database side of things)?
Plus, could it change the new settings I have in the new install of WordPress?

In reply to: [Plugin: AnythingSlider for WordPress] Unique Category for Each SlideThanks Jacob. I’ll see if I can just modify the tabs widget for the time being. However, I do think it would be really great if your plugin included the ability for each slide to target a unique category. I believe SlideDeck offers this.
I was having similar issues. So, I deactivated the plugin and then reactivated it. Now, it appears to be functioning fine for me after the upgrade to 2.0.1.

In reply to: [Plugin: AnythingSlider for WordPress] Unique Category for Each SlideThanks again for the reply! To be honest, I haven’t gotten that far. I was hoping to find a plugin that would handle most of what I needed as I am not a strong WordPress developer.
I am actually building the website on the Genesis theme framework. The idea came from their News child theme. You can see their featured tabs widget on the homepage of their demo site.

I was hoping to find a plugin that offers similar functionality, but also includes the functionality of a slider or cycle plugin.
My layout is different in that instead of tabs with text links I have graphical icons (to represent the 4 top-level categories). Below the navigation icons/buttons would be the featured image (which is as wide as the main content column). Then, below the featured image I’d have an image for the name of the category (just a unique font), then the Post Title, followed by the Post Date.

In reply to: [Plugin: AnythingSlider for WordPress] Unique Category for Each SlidePotentially, but the design calls for a post from a specific category to be in each slide (as illustrated above). The slider navigation buttons would represent each of the four unique categories.
Similar to the slider on https://thepioneerwoman.com/ – only in the design I am working on the navigation buttons would display above the featured image and below the featured image we’d display the Post Title and Post Date.
Thanks for your reply! I am going to play around with your plugin more tonight.

In reply to: Featured Content Slider based on Top Level CategoriesSo if you want to use special ones per category, you’d add in wrappers around the content for the category.
Thanks for the response. Could you elaborate on this a bit more? I’m not total following.

In reply to: Is there a way to re-instate a Category that has been Trashed?I figured out the conflict. There are Tag slugs that are conflicting with the new Category slugs.

In reply to: Is there a way to re-instate a Category that has been Trashed?Just to illustrate what I’d like to fix.
It appears that my client deleted a category that they had set up in the past. The category is called “Life” and the original slug was “/life”.
Now, they’d like to use this on their redesigned site, however, it appears that they’ve deleted the original life category. However, now when I try to create a new category called “Life” WordPress is changing the slug to “/life-2” and it won’t allow me to create the slug I’d like to use “/life”.

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping] Upgrade & mu-plugins DirectoryThanks Ron! Ok, I’ll move it to the /plugins folder.

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping] Upgrade & mu-plugins DirectorySo, to be sure I am clear. Since Ron states above that this plugin should still be placed in the /mu-plugins folder that is where we should be placing it, correct?
