One of the things you get use to in dealing with wordpress is the endless uploading and re-uploading of version after version of the software. 17 or 18 different versions in a year and change. If you are maintaining hundreds of instances, then maintaining WP software is almost a full time job.

Same effect here. I upgraded everything to 2.3.2 and then noticed issues. The posts modified are older posts (nothing completely current, but stuff that was on the front page of the site) and in at least one case, I was able to confirm with google cache that the injection had occured before the 2.3.2 upgrade.

The injection is 100% certainly via XMLRPC, because the posts are getting their character set maimed as well on the repost (they are using UTF-8, but I have some blogs set not to use it).

I found this issue on a number of blogs over a number of databased with different usernames, passwords, db passwords, themes, layouts, and such. In some cases there were no additional users besides admin on the blog.

I upgraded all of my blogs within hours of the 2.3.2 release (a ton of work, thanks) and I will be watching closely for any additional activity.

It should be noted that Google does not like these frames, and it appears that they will pretty much remove your site from the SERPs if they find them on your pages.

Okay, found the issue, the “Add Meta Tags” plugin apparently wants a table that no longer exists.

I have the same error on an upgrade I did today. I cannot post the URL because of the content of the blog.

It only tells me that you have a very guilty conscience. But this isn’t about you, so nothing to add.

The question isn’t something that can be answered by anyone except a moderator or board admin. Asking it would be pointless, and you likely lead to more tag-defacing of my posts. So I will wait and discuss this all with someone in a position of responsibility.

That isn’t what I think in the slightest. I didn’t post this like “I am waiting!”, but rather asking a moderator to contact me regarding an issue that really shouldn’t be on the board. I have contacted the only email address available, but I have not had a reply. This message was posted in case any of the other actual moderators might be inclined to contact me in the mean time.

I ain’t no newcomer when it comes to the web, I have probably been doing this longer than most around here. My expectations of support on a freeware product are in fact extremely low, just above null. It is clear that my expectations are being met.

So I wait.

Nice cleanup. I contacted a moderator through the stated gmail account but did not receive a reply. I was not convinced that the gmail account in question is checked often, so I did what I have done on other chat boards for almost 30 years and asked for a moderator to drop me a line if possible.

moshu, thank you for moderating the tags, but can you please addess the tagging issue with the people who added them? It really does discredit wordpress when the support areas are so aggressive against newcomers to the board.
