oh my. so I made manual backups, manual install, updated PHP to handle the new WP, lots of troubleshooting activating and deactivating plugins…

And I’m now back exactly where I started.

The home page loads perfectly… But the links just don’t work.

How do I upgrade manually?

What does this mean I need to schedule time to do… delete the site PHP files, upload the new site PHP files and then do a database migration of the data?

I uploaded my local htaccess — hope it’s the same. Then reset and resaved the links preferences… still no dice. Can you tell me what kinds of permissions I need on the htaccess file? I think I have 644 right now.

andrea thanks for your update. I have the same issue with wpmu – no ability for any user, not even admin to embed video. Despite being new to WP, I’ve seen your face for quite a while on google searches. You’re quite the WP pro!

What’s your expectation as to when the issue might be resolved?
