Bingo. Problem solved. It was the edit in place plugin that was mangling things. I had the plugin installed since one of the themes I was using once didn’t have an “edit” link on the entries. D’oh!

My host’s version of Fantastico hasn’t picked up the latest version of WP yet…I’ve got to harass him about that! Plugin-wise, I’ve got adhesive, akismet, spell check, and edit in place on the review site. I’m almost starting to wonder if the edit in place plugin isn’t what’s causing the problem…

Believe me, I’ve been searching to try and figure this out for like the last two weeks!

Since I’m a dingbat and my brain isn’t working today…how do you get that tag to change the text? “More” is boring, I’d like something with a little more snap, depending on my site’s design at the time, as well.

I’m using the “official” release. I’ve got a couple more things to check. I’m thinking it’s coming somewhere from the code on my old site, but I don’t know.
I really don’t want to have to re-write all that code! ??

I’ve had to uninstall the WYSIWYG ’cause it was driving me up a wall.
But now I find that in copying some other stuff over, I’m STILL getting those damn accented a’s!
And here I thought getting myself a content management system would be EASY! ??

My website has been done by hand since the beginning of time. I’m just now testing out WP and LOVING it. I’ve got the WYSIWYG installed, but I’m having a big problem with copying my posts over from my old site.
Since everything was done by hand, I have to do a cut and paste. When I publish the entries, I get stuff that looks like this:
“I so did not want to come back to work this morning.?? So much so that I didna€?t hear my alarm go off after I hit the snooze button the first time and I slept in until almost 8:30.?? Thata€?s pretty bad when I leave the house by no later than 8:10 to get to work on time!”
Those accented A’s just won’t go away! I have to go back into each entry, backspace to the period and go from there. I’ve been working on one entry now for like an hour trying to get it fixed and it’s driving me crazy!
