rolling back to 1.52 didn’t help anything. I went all the way back to 1.44 but that didn’t work at all – it loaded fast but there were no galleries…I’m guessing this is before the collections support.

Sure, I’d love to help. I’m not sure how to get the older versions, but I’ll look around. If you can point me to the right spot quickly, feel free.
