Okay @zebracrossing. Sure, we will wait for your response. I think you are mistaking us with another tool (in your case, a Theme you have installed. And, FYI, Essential Blocks is a Plugin. Not a Theme).

First of all, I am sorry to hear about inconvenience caused. We would appreciate it if you tell your experience in a bit more detailed manner.
I am not sure which Theme are you referring to. Are you referring Essential Blocks as a Theme or you are talking about something else? If so, which Theme did you install? Not sure what you meant by “after installing the plugin we have demanded.”
And, I am not clear about what you mean by sales promotion stuff. We only show 1 notice in the backend which is clearly dismissable and won’t show ever again if you close it.
Anyways, I would appreciate your response on this and would help you clear all the confusions.

It looks like you have replaced Filterable Gallery with Elementor’s Portfolio widget to resolve this issue. So, we are considering this thread as resolved for now.

We are extremely sorry about the inconvenience caused. Anyways, we are investigating the issue you have faced and working on a quick fix so that you won’t have to make the changes in all your pages.
I would recommend you to rollback to the previous version of Essential Blocks to get your site to the previous state by downloading the v4.2.2 version from this link
You can check out this screenshot for further reference. Afterwards, please upload this plugin and replace the current version of Essential Blocks on your site. Everything should be working fine hopefully.

It sounds really strange. Can you please tell me what code did you see we added in the header? The plugin is well optimized and with the recent update with code structure revamp, BetterDocs is even supposed to be more optimized and load faster than before.
So, I would really appreciate if you elaborate your issue a bit more also while sharing screenshots, theme you are using etc so that we could check & help you out.

We actually patched the security update back in May 11, 2023. & We sent the email to all our users to update to the latest version of Essential Addons right away. You can see the screenshot here

We sent another follow up email on May 28 as well. Here’s a tweet we have sent out on Twitter too.
So, I would be incorrect to say that we haven’t contacted our customers. Maybe you have missed out the emails somehow or they went to your spam.

First of all, we are extremely sorry about the inconvenience caused. However, we sent out emails to all our users (both FREE & PRO) regarding the vulnerability asking them to immediately update the Essential Addons plugin. Here’s the screenshot.
Unfortunately, you may have missed the email or it may have went to the spam. Besides, we contacted the WordPress Plugin Review team immediately so that anyone using 5.7.x versions, their plugin gets automatically get up-to-date to the latest version. So, it would be unfair to say that we didn’t try to contact our users.

You don’t actually have to enable anything if you use the Setup Wizard during the installation. It has the option to choose whichever widget that you want to keep enabled actually. Maybe you have missed that.
Regarding the Essential Blocks notice, sorry that you felt that way, but there’s a “Dismiss” option for it as well. If you press it, it won’t ever show up on your screen again too.

Note: You will just have to reload the page to see the changes inside your Elementor Editor.
