In my case, problem solved. It was an error with a permision on user account.

Exactly same problem here. Worked fine for a few days, until today. Same error:

Ok, thanks! Just one more question about this: is there a way to filter only recent posts to preload? I have more than 30,000 posts, and preload the entire sitemap is not an option.

Same here. I cannot remove “Publish posts” capability from Author, for example.

Edit: solved. I was trying to edit capabilities from an user. Go to edit capabilities from a role under User menu – User Role Editor.
