In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Not ready for primetimeI’ll drop it : )
However, about that Skype meeting:
It didn’t happen because you never accepted my contact request, not because I blew you off.

I get it, it happens, but please be more careful when making such accusations in the future.

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Not ready for primetimeDuly noted, and thank you for the feedback. The new feature request is an entire topic:

It’s key to note that feature requests in this business are rarely you asking specifically for something new. They’re much more likely to be a user asking how to do something — the developer knowing we can’t do that — and then adding that functionality.
The ability to create custom formatted emails is incredibly useful, having textarea originated content within this format was not in the original version.
So far as I know no other WP form plugin provides this ability, so I was happy to add it in. Unfortunately a bug was introduced from this addition, though I worked as quickly as I could to patch it up. My apologies for this, though the end result, I hope, is a much more powerful, *and free!* form editor.
If you can provide guidance on other issues that prevented form creation not related to this new feature request, I’m all over getting them fixed.
Finally, as you noted yourself I made custom video responses to questions you had, was quite prompt at providing support, added new features, and offered incredible Skype support.
All that for 1 star? Shame on me for all that hard work : )

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Not ready for primetimeFirst, thank you much for the review, I love positive feedback, but find incredible value in the not so good as well!
In this particular case though I wanted to quickly provide bit of context, as I absolutely believe RackForms Express is a fantastic solution for building forms, especially because of its unlimited nature.
Briefly, RackForms as a form builder has existed since 2007, in fact we’re one of the most seasoned brands on the market. What is new, however, is the WordPress plugin shell, which brought with it quite a bit of tooling to make the integration as slick as possible. With so much new code always comes the risk of bugs.
That said, while not a big deal, I wish you would have mentioned that the main bug we had was due to adding a brand new feature.
On this point I would like to be clear: For most software it’s hard enough to even talk to a developer, let along request a feature and have it implemented — and that’s for paid products!
In this case I took your great suggestion and happily ran with it, implementing the feature as quickly as I could. As is the law with such rapid development (or so it always seems!), bugs do happen. I hope you’ll agree I did my best to clear up the issue as quickly as possible!
Quickly then on the Skype meetup: I’d chalk this one up to timezone or user-name issues, of which I’ve had plenty of both over the years.
I can assure you I was very much on when we had scheduled, but perhaps because of time zone, or me being fat-fingered and typing in the wrong Skype name, it unfortunately never came to pass.
I do have to say though, when you’ve done this for a while you very quickly get used to users dropping in and out during support cases. I used to be more of a hound in this regard, but came to find some users simply figure things out and would prefer not to be bothered again. It’s not perfect, but I’m always open to suggestions.
This is what happened here. My absence was definitely not due to a lack of interest!
Anyway, since our last chat together we’ve had a few new features added, bugs fixed, and so on, and would love to see you give it another shot if time permits!
The unlimited nature and feature-rich tooling of RackForms makes it an incredibly valuable proposition, one that I look forward to building on for years to come!

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Issues with Email againSorry to hear about the issue, hopefully I can help!
So sometimes in cases like this the easiest way forward is to meet up on Skype and screen share. That way we can see exactly what’s going on, which as you’d expect, is a huge help!
If you could, and of course if you want to, please email me at info at rackforms dot com. We can set up a time and take it online!

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Bullet for all Confirmation Page fieldsSure thing. So that folder is for the editor (which includes our saved/published jobs), we simply need to re-download the plugin and active it.
Should do the trick, but please let me know if not!

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Bullet for all Confirmation Page fieldsUnfortunately I’m not able to duplicate this behavior, so I’ll need an image/screenshot to make progress.
I would also ask to confirm you were able to clear your browsers cache to see if that helped. Unfortunately the browsers cache is not something we developers have control over, which means old settings can often create issues, perhaps like the one we’re experiencing now.
Alas please keep me posted!
I’ve marked this as resolved, as it certainly has been on my end, but it’s important to me that it works on your end as well, so please let me know if so!

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Bullet for all Confirmation Page fieldsTo put a finer point on it:
We have three columns:
ADD ELEMENTS | FORM PREVIEW AREA | EDIT FORM ATTRIBUTES
A screen shot would be preferred, but if not possible, please let me know which of those columns are being overlapped.
I have never seen the behavior being described, so I’m quite keen to get this taken care of.
Please also be sure to clear out your browsers cache before going any further, as updated files are often saved rather aggressively by the browser, and a full cache flush is the only way to force it to use the newest files.

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Bullet for all Confirmation Page fieldsInteresting. This may be a browser/version issue.
If you don’t mind, I took a quick screen shot:
https://www.rackforms.com/files/editor-size.png
If you could quick check that box being pointed too by the arrow and see if making that value bigger helps, I would be grateful.
For my part I’ve tested on Windows and Mac, with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. We it be possible to ask what Browser/OS you’re on?
That way I can run additional test and fixes.

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Text Area returnsThat’s Fantastic news, and thank you for the update!
In this case I’ll admit it was a quick feature addition, hence the issue. This is often the case with rapid development, though hopefully the end-result is worth it!
Moving forward I expect such feature additions will be more rigorously tested before release : )

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Bullet for all Confirmation Page fieldsA few quick items here to this excellent feedback : )
First, we actually can have multiple conditional rules using the ‘Custom Conditional Field Statement’ field.
We can learn more in your rackforms-for-wordpress folder at:
content/plugins/express-for-wordpress/goodies/Sample Jobs/Conditional Fields
That is, these are full jobs we can load into the editor at any time via the ‘Load A Saved XML File’ button near the top of the editor. Of course please note you’ll need to save this folder to your desktop first, the load them into the editor.
To make the editor lager at any time, simply click the page header. The editor will expand to the full width of the page.
Great feedback on the duplicate job item, I’ll definitely address this in the next update!

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Text Area returnsAlright, such is the nature of adding new features to a new piece of software, bugs happen : )
So the good news is this is now fixed, once again thank you for letting me know about it!
You were indeed correct, the problem started after the line break code had been added. Alas it’s fixed now, please feel free to update again and let me know if it works on your end!

In reply to: [RackForms Express Web Form Builder] Text Area returnsJust replied to the other question, though as a quick follow-up point here: I’ve not been able to reproduce this specific status, perhaps it’s the email system being a bit over zealous with spam filtering?
I only say this as I just enabled filtering on my server, and now any email sent from my local computer is marked as spam. Point is it still makes it to my inbox, though sometimes it’s marked as spam in the subject, other times not.
It’s definitely variable, perhaps the same is happening on your end?
Thank you again for the feedback!
This has just been corrected in the latest build, along with a few other items related to layout and positioning.
The editor itself also got a quick coat of paint to hopefully make basic form creation easier. For example, the page create icons are now labeled, and we removed the free form button so we only have two buttons — should be a bit easier to manage : )
Alas please let me know if this resolves the issue!
