I’d like to know this too! The logs are very lengthy and before the change, I used to manually clear them every day.

In reply to: [PressBackup] move/restore large site?I can’t change the upload size on php.ini, so I tried the second method.
I configured PressBackup to use a server folder (public_html/emb/) and uploaded the backup to that folder via FTP. Then, I see the backup on the PressBackup dashoboard. All seemed well at that point.
However, when I click “Restore” I get an error, “failed to get file.” This has happened multiple times.
Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] plugin takes .63 seconds to load?Hi Mortydot, thanks for the suggestion.
We’re using the Disk Enhanced setting for page caching. JS & CSS minification are turned on and use Disk (no other settings available for those).
If anyone wants to see the site, it’s https://www.emptymirrorbooks.com
Gracias!

In reply to: [OTW Portfolio Light] error log –Oh, OK, cool. Since they were showing up in the error log I thought they were errors, but I’m not really that knowledgeable about PHP (as you can probably tell). Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

In reply to: [OTW Portfolio Light] error log –Update: I’m getting a similar error when using the filterable gallery:
PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/diartspo/public_html/d/wp-content/plugins/otw-portfolio-light/templates/otw-prtfolio-filterable.php on line 36
Every time the gallery is viewed, a whole slew of these errors show up. I haven’t edited any of the template files. Anyone know of a solution for this? I think the error log is going to get very big very quickly.
Thanks so much for your help!

In reply to: [OTW Portfolio Light] Personalize the name /otw-portfolio/ in permanent linkThe solution above works beautifully. Be sure to save your permalink settings afterward, the URL will show as you wish it to.
OK, thanks so much.
Well, I did a little experimenting, and got some weird errors in the process. I got the “not writable” error again. Then, once, it said my chunked upload to S3 was smaller than the minimum (really doubtful, for a site this size). Etc. I disabled some plugins, didn’t seem to help. Double-checked the permissions for the folders in question for the umpteenth time. Then I increased the amount of disk space available to this account (though there was a fair amount available). That didn’t have an effect. Enabled the other plugins again. Ran another couple backups…and, then, presto. All is well again. I honestly don’t know what happened. But we’re doing fine. Scratching my head over it.
Really appreciate your help, David! Thanks for the awesome plugin!
best,
DeniseOh I see. I’d misunderstood.
So, as you suggested, I deactivated and deleted the previous version, then downloaded the development version.
When I first looked at the UpdraftPlus page on my site (for the new version) it still listed the last backup with the “not writable” warning below it. OK.
Then I ran another backup. I got the message that the backup was complete, but also this warning:
Warning: /home/paulmahe/public_html/wp-content/updraft: The backup directory is not writable – the database backup is expected to shortly fail.
Don’t know what to do. This is so bizarre because I have other WP sites running successfully and using UP on this same server.
I got this error, too. I disabled the plugin but am looking for a solution so I can enable it again.
Hi David,
Yeah, it’s really strange, I have run some more backups and still get the “not writable” error. But if everything else is working OK, I’ll just ignore it. No problem!
cheers –
DeniseHmmmm I’ve just uploaded the edited file again. Not sure what happened there! Sorry.
Ran the backup again (https://pastebin.com/WipZ3PE0), and didn’t get the zip file, but rather a warning in red that the updraft directory isn’t writable. This puzzles me, as both the wp-content and updraft folders are 755. I just double-checked.
I have UpdraftPlus installed on other WordPress sites – on the same server and with the same setup – and never had these issues so it must be something about this site only, it’s really puzzling. I don’t really need to store any backups on the server; just want to make sure everything’s running as it should and that the backups sent to S3 are as as they should be.
cheers-
DeniseHi David,
Thanks for your reply! I amended wp-config, and ran the backup again. Here’s the log:
all best,
Denise
