In reply to: [EventON - Events Calendar] Can I Import Events From CSV?Ok. Are the “customers” who rsvp different than WordPress Users? Or would an admin have to fill in everyone’s name each week?
Our Admins can certainly do an incognito RSVP or whatever, but not if it means they have to type everyones info each week. It would be *far* more desirable for us to be able to just choose from a list of current WordPress users (preferably filtered by user role) to rsvp / check them into the rehearsal event each week. If this could be implemented, we’d gladly pay the licensing to use it.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [EventON - Events Calendar] Can I Import Events From CSV?Thank you for the clarification. I had to wait for budget to be approved before moving forward on a new events system for our website, but that has been completed now and I’m ready to buy a new system. However, before I sign up with EventON – I need one more clarification:
This will be used for a music chorus that meets weekly for rehearsals. We don’t want to make our chorus members RSVP every week. We generally have between 30-40 people each week, many of whom would struggle to remember to rsvp or are technically challenged and would need help with the process all the time. We just need to check in or take attendance for everyone who shows up each week. Can this all be done through the backend of the site by an admin? Can an admin just “check in” someone who did not previously RSVP?
All our chorus members are set up as WordPress users, with the “chorus member” user role assigned.
Thanks!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [EventON - Events Calendar] Can I Import Events From CSV?Ok, thank you for the clarification. I’m happy to buy the pro if that’s how I can do imports.
There is one other feature I need in an events system: The ability to keep track of who actually attended. Specifically: I’d like to be able to “take attendance” like you would at a class or seminar – essentially have a list of all my WordPress users and be able to check off who came to an event.
From the marketing materials I see there is something about attendance mode (live, virtual, etc) but I can’t find anything about actually marking who was at an event. Is that available in the pro version?Thank you Suman! The latest changes are great! I’ve finally been able to update my production site with your latest plugin, and it is working well.
I only wish the subject field came after the list of roles to send to, as I have a large list of roles. I see you re-organized the list, but my list is so long that when you scroll down to type a message the subject field is moved off the top of the screen.
But I’m very grateful for your work on this, and am happily using it on my site.
Thank you!
Hi Suman – I’ve installed the latest version of your plugin on my dev site, and there is 1 small additional change (well, 2, really) that I’d like to request. In a nutshell: roles with permission to send email should not necessarily have permission to change the settings – only Admins should be able to do that. I’d also like to suggest a slight rearrangement of the items on the send email screen. Here is a screencast that demonstrates exactly what I’m talking about: https://boisechordsmen.com/email-roles-feedback/
Let me know if you have any questions, or if I can help in any way.
Thank you!
Thank you! I’ll have a look at the updated plugin and let you know if I run into any issues.
Hi Suman – any updates on that pull request?
Hey Suman – I saw a new release of your plugin, and I’d love to use it… but wanted to check on the status of the pull request (referenced above).
Hi @metalfreek – my wife and I worked on adding this functionality, and have it working well. Submitted a pull request earlier this evening. Please check your git repo. Thanks!
I would also really find this feature useful. I’d LOVE to use your plugin, but don’t love the idea of handing out admin access to my site members.
I use WordPress for a website for a barbershop choir (of around 40 people), and many of the members of the site will need to send an email to other members of the sites (by roles) but they are not technically savvy enough to be trusted with Admin access.
If editors, contributors, or even custom roles could be permitted to use the plugin, that would be fantastic.
I didn’t look hard yet – but if this plugin is open source and in a git repo somewhere, I may be able to figure out how to do a pull request…
Thanks!
