I did a search and replace for everything related to old IP with the new one, EXCEPT for old IP entries in the guid column of the
wp_post database, as specified in the Changing the URL directly in the database method.

Yes i did try this method:
Changing the URL directly in the database

It allows me to load my theme normally, BUT the images attached to each and every posts are not visible,… because thes images are still pointing to the old URL !

As far as i understand i will have to go back to each post to delete old image links and redo the attach procedure.
That’s insane… ??

esmi, i typed the absolute full path like this (and saved):
https://192.168.10.101/wordpress/wp-content/uploads

in the Full URL path to files option..
and this didn’t change anything. ??

What else could i do?

Check your uploads path in Settings -> Media. It should be blank.

Yes it’s blank. Ok i get it. Unless you say DON’T ! i will use the Full URL path to files option…

Reading this page (Changing_The_Site_URL) does not solve my problem because i am able to access my site homepage normally, BUT cannot see each of the posts inserted images.

– If i edit a post, i can see it’s permalink changed accordingly to my computer’s new IP, but the image inserted in that same post points to the old IP, that’s why i cannot see it.

Interestingly, if i am supposed to change MANUALLY any other refs to the old IP, (elsewhere in the WP database) after fixing the siteurl and home from the wp_options database, well the remaining places where i found other references to the old IP is in the wp_post database.

–> And these refs are located in entries under the guid column, into which we are supposedly FORBIDDEN to change anything under any cicumstances.

So what to do ?

Well, if someone finds out, i would be interested to know the EXACT jquery code you need, and WHERE to put it into those files.

My problem is: I only have one (CATEGORIES) drop-down menu on my home page. I want to add more !

— What are the steps you took to put the CONTACT and SEARCH menus beside the CATEGORIES menu ???

Being a WordPress rookie, until now i was only able to put a CATEGORIES menu on my home page !

The widgets are related to sidebar matters, if i am humbly not mistaken.

I had the chance to communicate with a FULLSCREEN website owner,
and in order to get access to various categories from a pull-down menu on my HOME (front) page, i had to create MENUS (what else !!!) with the WordPress dashboard, and then drag and drop in categories afterwards. You then get a nice pull-down menu with all categories properly nested. ??

it’s just a little confusing at the begining, (specifically for sub-categories) but i quickly got used to it. The Help files are indeed very handy too.

Next, besides this menu, i want to create a search box.
