In reply to: [Swiftype Site Search Plugin for Wordpress] custom fieldsHello,
As of right now the plugin considers “post-like” fields in custom post types, meaning fields like title, body, author, etc. We do not yet use custom fields outside of those. This is something we’d like to do in the near future, though. Can you give an example of the type of data you would like to index?

Searches for “construcción” should now match as you expected.

In reply to: [Swiftype Site Search Plugin for Wordpress] Swiftype only for a CPTHello,
First, we have some things in the works that will handle the “construcción” case. They should be available within the next week or so.
For your question about the wiki search, I’m not sure I completely understand the situation. Are you using the crawler solution or the WordPress plugin? Perhaps if you can give some example that will help.

In reply to: [Swiftype Site Search Plugin for Wordpress] Custom Post TypesHello,
This actually isn’t the case with the WordPress plugin. The robots directives only apply to search engines created using our crawler solution. There is a good solution for the plugin as well. You can use a filter to restrict the post types that are allowed to be searched. Here is an example that only allows posts: https://gist.github.com/qhoxie/47e39f8db6b6fa2b7d7c
Best,
QuinHello,
Currently, you can install the plugin in each sub-blog, but there’s no global search. This is something we’d like to add, but we don’t have a timeline yet. However, if you do want global search, you can work around it by using our web crawler, which supports indexing multiple domains.
As for custom post types, we do support them as of a few months ago.

In reply to: [Swiftype Site Search Plugin for Wordpress] Search for two or more termsHello,
Autocomplete results differ from full search results because they only take high-value text into consideration and do prefix matches rather than full term. For your engine, this means things like page titles will be used in the autocomplete searches, whereas the full post content will not. For this reason, autocomplete searches usually have fewer results than a full-text search, which considers all content.
If I understand your question correctly, it would be possible to prevent the search form from submitting using JavaScript, but without know the exact setup of your site I can’t make specific suggestions.

QuinHi Mark,
Your theme is likely interfering with the normal search flow. Please see this guide for how you can fix it: https://swiftype.com/questions/why-dont-the-search-results-in-my-swiftype-dashboard-match-what-is-displayed-on-my-wordpress-site

In reply to: [Swiftype Site Search Plugin for Wordpress] Custom Post TypesHello,
The plugin does support indexing custom post types. Please give it a try and let us know what you think!
Best,
Quin, SwiftypeHello,
Thank you for the detail. We have re-enabled indexing of custom post types after working out some edge-cases with them. You should see your new content indexing properly.

In reply to: [Swiftype Site Search Plugin for Wordpress] Didn't work for meHello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with the plugin. As Aaron noted, the integration happens transparently – all that is required is installing the plugin and indexing your posts.
Best,
Quin, SwiftypeHello,
Sorry for the confusion on this. The default “Search” widget is what you want here. It will use Swiftype and search all categories. The “Swiftype Search” widget is intended to be used to filter on categories.
Best,
Quin
