After ticking the “Do not apply Content Filters”, the block is displayed without the html tags. When I switch it back, the html tags work again.

After spend many hours reading up on widget development and keeping in mid your comment about using filters outside the loop, I realised that the Content Block plug-in had an option to not apply filters. There was no description about this option so I had ignored it.

After setting it for all my blocks, the pages now work!

All I now have to do is find out how to customise the output from the Events Manager to look good on my pages.

After studying your code and reading up on Widget development, I see you have an option to ‘apply_filters’. It has been suggested that this function should only be used within the loop – I am not sure if this is true or not, however as I couldn’t find any documentation for this option, I clicked the “Do not apply Content Filters” option and my problem went away!

Could you please describe the usage of this option as it’s been causing me many issues for many weeks.

I must apologise to the guys at Headway for insinuating that they were not supporting me. It was all my fault for confusing Headway’s Content Block with a plugin I am using that creates ‘Contenk Blocks’ (one is nothing to do with the other.

So the problem seems to be an incompatibility between Events Mnager and the WordPress Custom Posts Widget at https://www.vanderwijk.com/wordpress/wordpress-custom-post-widget/

I will try and contact them to see if there is anything they can add.

OK, this problem has not gone away, it’s a shame that the level of support from the Headway team on this is pretty low. I’ve given them access to the site, but still nothing from them.

If you visit https://www.creakeabbeycafe.com and click the events menu option you will see the list of events (not customised yet) and the problem where every widget on the page is being filled with the same details as the page contents.

If you click a link from the calendar on the front page, the ‘single’ page is displayed with the event details, but again the widget areas are all filled with the same content.

I looked at your suggestion about the slug, but seemed to make no difference.

Any help possible will be gratefully appreciated.

Can a single event be displayed in a widget? if so, how do I link the calendar to the page containing the widget?

On that basis, can a list of events be displayed in a widget and they link to the page showing the single widget.

Yes the footer uses the loop but the email box at the top just uses a widget.

I seems to have read something about resetting the loop. Is that something EM needs to do?

Obviously, Headway, the framework I’m using, resets the loop because it displays many of it’s ‘blocks’ using loops to for example display posts from different categories.

I’m sorry, not sure I understand a lot of this, quite new to WP. I have change the permalinks to the default and it still causes a problem. Not sure how the change the slug. As for incomplete theme, again, not sure how the test/check this. I’m using the Headway framework, which is very professional and comprehensive.

It looks to me that when I click the calendar link it opens my single page (I have not customised a events page). Again, not sure how the check this.

As for the Events link, I’m still not sure about the integration.
