Sorry for the delay.
I’ve checked via Filezilla and it appears all the folders and files have file permissions of 700 (so the files aren’t 644). If I just try to update the update-core.php file to 644 it appears to accept it but when I check again it’s back to 700 (same if I try to update a folder permissions)? Is the hosting provider over riding it? If the rest of the site is working, then is the 644/700 not really an issue?

Can you confirm that this plugin is still alive (an old plugin crashed my site after a recent WP update so trying to prevent that from happening again!)

Thank you for the advice, I took the plunge and disabled all the plugin’s turning them back on one by one. For your records it was “PopBox For Elementor”, another old plugin I didn’t realise was dead, that was stopping Elementor from loading.
Sizzify Lite plugin now deactivated. Website is still up but the problem with the greyed out left hand panel still persists, unfortunately…

In reply to: Unable to uninstall plugin, site crashesYes, you are right, but I suspect they won’t help with an old third party plugin, so I’ll be stuck in limbo, but I will post this on their pages.
