In reply to: [WordPress Charts] Looks great for visitors. Short codes can be tricky. Not at all, I completely agree with you, and its really nice to have independent validation regarding the things I think are important to make this plugin as awesome as it can be. Its also really nice to get such great feedback on my first WordPress Plugin.

In reply to: [WordPress Charts] Looks great for visitors. Short codes can be tricky.Hey magichew,
thanks for the great review, and I totally agree, the shortcode system can be a little tricky, but I’ve tried to make it as easy to manage as possible while the plugin is in its sub 1.0 dev cycle, GUI for creating the charts is definitely on the way with a ton more features to make this both super easy to use and powerful.
Thanks for the great feedback.

In reply to: [WordPress Charts] The future of WordPress ChartsHey Alex
thanks for the message, and taking a bit of time to check out my plugin as well, Also thought it was quite uncanny that we had both developed a similar plugin at seemingly the same time.
While appreciate your sentiment I have two reservations about combining them right now. Firstly, I’m about half way through my 1.0 feature set already but may be willing to discuss it a little further once thats complete. Secondly I come from a WordPress theme dev background so I’m quite keen to experiment and learn about the plugin API with this, and I’m not sure about how that will play out in a team setup. Lastly I work in a dev team currently, our focus being client orientated advanced custom WordPress development and I’m quite excited to be doing this on my own for a change.
that being said I may be interested in revisiting this conversation once I’ve hit my 1.0 milestone to see how we can extend on my original goals and vision with this plugin.
Thanks for getting in touch and I look forward to chatting with you soon.
Warmest Regards
Paul

In reply to: Twenty Thirteen – structured post formats ?thanks.
Hey there, having an issue with this, Shortcode works fine in the content, when placed in a template (I’ve used the do_action as described on your site) with no joy – any help would be greatly appreciated.
Other than this snag an all round awesome plugin.

In reply to: Admin bar not displayingIts a pleasure, sometimes its not any complicated code, but just a silly quirk that needs a fresh pair of eyes.
Of course it wouldn’t work at all without sorting out the footer as you did before.

In reply to: Admin bar not displayingHey, so logged in and the admin bar seems to be working fine, had a quick scratch around the funcitons.php, checked header and footer, and all looks good, and the admin bar is working…. let me know if its still not working for you, couldn’t see any settings that would restrict it for you either though.
drop me another mail if you’re still not having any luck.
try logging in under both accounts as I explained in my mail and compare the user settings.

In reply to: Admin bar not displayingThanks man – still getting to grips with creating themes from scratch and called get_wp_footer instead of just wp_footer, thank you – sorted out my admin bar and one or two other oddities I was struggling with – you’re the man.
thanks again and Warmest Regards

In reply to: Adding subtitles to a custom menu in Twenty Ten child themewell, I followed the instructions from the linked tutorial above placing that code into my functions php, and managed to get a second menu displayed with poor styling, though with the subtitles,
(do we really need to repost the code from the tut?)
I would like to see what josh did specifically to have this working, though my ultimate goal here is not to create a second menu but to add the descriptions to the existing menu or alternatively replace the existing menu in a straight forward twenty ten child theme with a menu featuring the descriptions.
any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
