Installed. WP2.0 is treating me well, and I it. ?? So far. The WYSIWYG editor doesn’t work for me (I use Safari) but that is not a big deal as I would rather use a program on my computer for composition as it has spell checking and I do the HTML as I type anyways. The Image Upload is not working at all. Apparently a lot of people are having trouble with that from what I’ve read here in the forums. The Blogger.com -> WP2.0 translater is great. Overall I like WP2.0.

Here too. I’m using Safari in Tiger. The WYSIWYG editor doesn’t do anything useful for me. I like the rest of the posting page. I just treat WP’s post page as a place to dump the text for uploading. I do all my editing in another better program with spell checking and then do all my own HTML coding within the posts, upload the images via FTP, etc. The image uploader in WP is buggy and useless. But there are other great improvements. I like WP2.0 overall.

You of course have permission to use those photos or they are your own, right?

Speed is important. The default dashboard should be fast.

Aye, I hear you. I did install WP1.5.2 on one of my test domains. I would be interested to hear from others regarding how long it usually takes to shake out the initial bugs. Ideally that is what beta’s for but more always seem to crop up at the gold release.

Cool. It would be neat if the More tag could be set to operate such that for the first posting on the page the whole article showed but for other articles the More was used to continue on the postings own page. Then I could have the first page always have the full first story plus the leads of the subsequent N stories.

Perhaps this could be done by having a different tag or better yet by having a preference for More. e.g., More=0 –> operate as now. More = N -> show first N posts in full and excerpt those beyond N. So for my example above I would set More to 1 somewhere (in the template, Dashboard?)

I am new to WP. Where do I make suggestions?

You might think about making the jump from Blogger to WP. I’m doing just that because of spuratic problems, errors and lack of support at Blogger.com. Blogger was a nice place to start, since I didn’t know about WP, but it is limiting and the lack of responsiveness from them is annoying when I have had problems. At one point I was locked out of my blog, unable to post, for four days. ?? That made me start looking for a better solution and I decided on WP.
