You’d get this error when socket connection fails.

I am seeing the same error on one of my site where the server not allowed to make external socket connection.

Contact you host to enable socket connections for your site.

Something strange going on with one of my site is that its logging all links I am accessing into PHP Error log. I wonder if this all related.

I tried using a gif instead of a png and I am getting the same error:
