I have a crazy situation where SOME of my private posts redirect correctly, and SOME of them don’t redirect at all. they show the massage on the bage, instead– they also show all of the meta information on the post.

I cannot figure out why some do and some don’t.

So– if I have a list of six hundred authors– and I want the three thousand quotes to associate with them two ways… do I have to repeat that bit of code six hundred times?

I am so very discouraged with the tim thumb plugin. It I want to choose a “featured image” to use as custom header for the main category of each of my products. TimThumb grabs that image and adds it to the product page, when it has nothing to do with the product– only with the category.

Respectfully, I agree with OP. Please, get rid of the Timthumb image interface, or perhaps– turn it into its own plugin for those who want to use it. I need to have very precise control over my images, as the image that I want to use as thumbnail is very long and narrow for each product– detail shots are more conventionally shaped. This makes it difficult for me to compose my product pages. I have handled the images coming from timthumb by adding a “NO DISPLAY” for all their classes inmy CSS file. But the pages still call for the images, which adds a second or so to my loading time…

Are you trying to move all of the content onto one single wordpress run site?

It’s actually pretty easy to do the move– organising everything might be tricky afterwards.

in wp-admin/tools, choose export, to download all of the content plus attachment info. DO NOT delete the blog yet.
In your new super-duper blog, go to tools and choose import. You’ll be prompted to upload a wordpress plugin. Once it’s activated, you can use it to import the file that you downloaded, and it will also import all attachments from the original blog.
You’ll want to pay attention to the user options just before you hit the “go-ahead” button.

You can do this with as many blogs as you have.

If you mean to create a multisite with wordpress, the process is the same except that you’d be importing content to a newly created subblog.

I had to go into the database via mysqladmin and hunt it down and change the slug, and change status to publish. Then it was visible in my posts page and I was able to delete it through WP functions.

that won’t fix the problem, because there shouldn’t be ten internal redirects.
When I watched my status bar, wordpress was trying to redirect from a non-www to a www URL over and over.

Yes, the update added www into config. it wasn’t there before!

Something– or someone– would have to make art for the visual buttons for each of the quicktags you load into the plugin, and the writer can’t guess which ones you intend to use!

Even so, it’s pretty helpful. I’m glad I found it. I was able to input a very long piece phrase that comes up regularly. A click of the button and my boilerplate is written out for me!
