In reply to: [WP Google Search] Doesn’t work with WP 4.6 Twenty SixteenHello Peter of WebShopLogic,
Thank you for working to figure out the problem. I have a WP consultant working on fixing it on my website, and maybe he will arrive at the same fix.I didn’t realize review ratings were that important. Unfortunately, it looks like I cannot change it. My main reason for the review was to save WP users from trying something that would not work. Isn’t my post title still correct, regardless of whether the root cause is the theme or your plugin?
I couldn’t figure out how to report a bug to the WP team, but wouldn’t you have more influence as a Plugin developer? I’m just a WP user, and I don’t know CSS, so I could not even explain the issue. So it would be nice if you could report the problem and being instrumental in getting it fixed in the theme!
Thanks for your help,
-mj Lee

In reply to: [Hemingway] Google Custom Search in Menu?hi @liveoffdividends,
Nice website!I see that you solved your problem with Google Custom Search.
What did you do to make it work?
I see you are using the Hemingway theme…I am using twenty sixteen, but when you do a search, the Google CSE search results are badly formatted. The text overlaps the thumbnail images.
https://soccermoviemom.com/search/I’ve been googling the internet but haven’t found any solutions to try.
Thank you,
-mj leeThank you again, Tobias!
For the 2 narrow columns of year and rating, I ended up changing the titles to <2 chars each: YR and #, and then I could set their widths to 75px. This sufficiently improved the iPhone layout for column 1.I had to make the titles shorter, because otherwise in the computer browser with 80px widths, the sorting arrows overlaid the 4-6 char titles.
It just took a few minutes of testing to figure this out. I’m not sure how to mark this as resolved, but please do so.
Cheers and thank you again for your excellent support!

Hi Tobias,
I re-read the TablePress documentation and found that I could use the plugin option to set the width of columns 2 and 3 to 100px and 130px. This looks fine on the computer browser, but it is not very responsive on an iphone, as shown:
Is this the best I can do? If so, it is ok.
It is not optimal, but it is functional. I looked at the Responsive Table Extensions, but I do not wish to use flip, scroll, etc.
Thank you again for your help. Sorry for all the questions!
-mj leeHi Tobias!
Thanks for the quick reply. I made both changes to the plugin, but I still have a little problem with the table layout. The table still excessively wraps the Title column. I moved the title column from col 3 to col 1 (thanks for making that easy to do in wpadmin!). This improved the text wrapping of the title, but it is still excessive, since the table still allocates a lot of extra width to columns 2 & 3, which only need a few characters. Is there any way to set individual column widths?
Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you!

In reply to: Googlebot indexes sidebar on every post and pageHey WordPress world,
has anyone solved this problem themselves?
It IS a problem, isn’t it? It’s not just me?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Googlebot indexes sidebar on every post and pageMarios, I googled this nocontent class solution, and it appears that people have complained for several years that it doesn’t work. I also couldn’t find any examples of using this technique for a wordpress site.
Have you implemented this yourself?
BTW, I found one posting saying this solution would not work for Google Search, only for Google Custom Search. Google Search and SEO is really my main concern.

In reply to: Googlebot indexes sidebar on every post and pageNo, I wasn’t aware of the nocontent class.
But where would I put this generated code?
And would this only apply to Google Custom Search, or would it apply to Google Search as well? My understanding is that the two search engines are separate.
Thx for your help!

In reply to: [Twenty Sixteen] page templates- full width for frontpagethx for the info!
I tried going to twenty sixteen for its responsive layout, but I was unhappy with all the code tweaks or plugins I would have to install to make it look better. So I decided to stick with twenty fourteen for now. ??

In reply to: Problems with styling of Google Custom Search EngineNo, I am not using Google CSE, but I am thinking of implementing it on my website https://soccermoviemom.com.
I spent a couple of days researching CSE, and it appears that Google’s CSE indexing engine and regular indexing engine are separate. Articles claimed that if CSE gets users to stay on your site longer, than that would indirectly improve your SERP. I guess if you did not notice an improvement, then that confirms there is no direct relationship.
Thanks for your reply! your site had nice photos and info!

In reply to: Problems with styling of Google Custom Search EnginetheOff, have you benefited from using Google CSE? Has it improved your ranking in regular Google Search Results? Did it make it easier to receive revenue from Ads?
thanks for your insight.
