Actually, you don’t have to delete the folder. All you have to do is rename it and WordPress will automatically deactivate the plugin.

I got the same error about 15 minutes ago and had to do the same thing. I just FTP’d to the plugins folder, renamed it shashin1, then went back to /wp-admin. Back in the plugins folder, I realized that the Toppa Plugin Libraries it depends on also has an update. I’m guessing we were supposed to update that plugin before shashin. At any rate, after you update the Toppa library plugin, you can re-rename the shashin folder back to its original name, then enable the plugin in WordPress.

Let me add my voice to the chorus. This is a great plugin, but the ability to pull captions from Flikr would make it complete. Some of my photos really the context of the captions.

I’m experiencing the same problem. At Admin level I don’t see TinyMCE, but my friends at the Author level see both FCKEditor and TinyMCE. On Dean’s page there’s a reply (number 384) about fixing it by changing line 893 in wp-includes/general-template.php, but the comment is cut off before we get the details.

woonder, can you share how this problem was resolved?

I installed the king widget framework on WP 2.2 and it immediately killed my site. I came here and found this forum thread and used the fix in the last post. That got my site showing again, but the admin side is still dead. There’s no error message… it’s simply showing a blank white screen on any wp-admin screen.

Any suggestions?

To make things fair, I created a listing over at Rent a Coder like one of the posters below me. I hope some of you will check it out. I’m dying to move our site from tables to WordPress!
