Hi there,
Well, we’re inserting HTML into the <Description> portion of the RSS feed item. Your app isn’t parsing the HTML, so it would need to be coded to detect and/or display the <Description> using HTML instead of Plain Text.
Something similar to web scraping, this is way more complex but shows the HTML parsing:

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Not W3C standardOh just seeing this. It prepends it because most RSS readers will use it in this way, without having to change how your feed is used. We have thousands of people using the free version this way with providers like Mailchimp to automate their content marketing, and are very happy with it.
Our premium version also supports the image tag, which we’ve found requires more support for people to implement and create custom designed templates, hence being a premium feature.
Thanks for your feedback though.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Database change after install ?Hi there,
It may add some records to the options table, to store the size and alignment options. If you opt-in or upgrade to the Premium version, the Freemium platform may create more records to save that information.
It should not affect the posts or any other tables to my knowledge.
Thanks,
RobHi there,
I received your support ticket as well. We’ll research this more, and get back to you via email shortly.
Thanks,
RobHi there,
Our plugin wouldn’t affect how your website displays anything. It is only triggered when displaying the site’s RSS feed, and then pulls in the featured image HTML of each post, and prepends it to the description text.
I would recommend deactivating other plugins and see which one is causing those issues.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] How to remove Free Trial bannerAwesome, glad to hear. Dismiss should also dismiss it, but I’ll look into that as well.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] How to remove Free Trial bannerHmm it should dismiss and stay dismissed. Check for Javascript console errors maybe? Let me know, it should definitely go away once dismissed. I’d hate to have it show repeatedly.
Let me know.

Hi there,
Sorry for my delay, I missed your reply.
No our plugin can’t address the mp3 issue, it simply requests the featured image URL, and prepends it to the front of the RSS feed description body. Our plugin isn’t pulling in the MP3 file, the feed is. You’d have to look into modifying the feed to remove the audio file, or place the audio file at the end of the body instead of the top, and see if that helps?
Hi there,
The image looks ok in that link… I’m not sure of the issue. Let me know specifics and how the plugin or display is versus what you want it to display like or how you expect it to look?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Hide images from RSS feedHi George,
Hmm, that’s tricky… I’m sure there is, but not easily and not by default. It would require some fancy CSS that may or may not work well.
For example, including CSS that uses “display: none” on the image itself, and then in Mailchimp use different CSS to display it and resize it etc.
This is outside the scope of the free version support, but if you upgrade the Premium version, we can help create custom CSS and see if there’s a solution we can work out.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Very little pictures in RSSHi there,
The free version of our plugin isn’t generating the Enclosure tag… it must be some other plugin or your theme causing this, and using the wrong image size.
Our plugin grabs the featured image in the size you select, and prepends it’s HTML within the front of the description text of the RSS feed.
Try deactivating other plugins to see which one is generating the Enclosure tag portion within the feed.
Our premium version does support Media and Enclosure tags properly.

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] Remove HTML strings from titleHi there,
Our plugin isn’t causing the custom HTML in the title tag… our plugin just prepends the HTML of the featured image to the front of the feed item description text.
Try deactivating other plugins that may be causing this issue, and see if you can figure out which one is causing this. If not, let me know and I can help troubleshoot further.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More] woo product support?Hi Craig,
If there’s a feed, and the products are using native Featured Images, then our plugin should support prepending the image HTML to the feed body copy.
Let me know if it’s not working for you, and we can dig into it more.
Thanks,
RobHmm, I see the main site feed, and it looks good, I see images on each post.
The Podcast feed says “no entries”, so I’m not sure, but I would assume the RSS feed thinks the podcast is the featured image, perhaps there’s a plugin that would cause that?
It seems it’s pulling in the first attachment, instead of the Featured Image, do you have the first image option set?
If not, it should be prepending the image to the body copy… and the mp3 may be blocking or being displayed as well, breaking the image display.
What’s the feed URL for the podcast posts? I tried a few but none worked for me.
Thanks,
Rob
