I figured out the problem. There was code in my template that had specified all posts in a specific category remain hidden from the main page. Once I removed that, everything worked just fine.

You definitely aren’t the only one having this issue – I’ve been trying to find a solution for DAYS and haven’t found one yet.

Were you able to resolve this? I’m using 2.3.1, but getting the same error message, even though I know my settings are right. And while there are a TON of topics about this error message, no one has actually posted a solution.

I’m having this exact problem – the only thing is it only seems to be happening with one specific post. I deactived the three plugins I added today and it didn’t correct the problem. I’ve deleted the post and re-added it several times, but it still won’t show up on the main page (but it is in my archives).

These php files are absolute greek to me, for the most part. I’d like to do the same thing, but I can’t figure out what part of the code to add to my sidebar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
