In reply to: Public_html permissions questionInterestingly, I cannot change the permissions to 555 using my FTP client. It reverts to/stays at 755. (I have not tried with the web host’s File Manager function).
Perhaps I misunderstand all this, but if the server will not allow me to change permissions to that directory via FTP, would that indicate the directory is writeable by the server?

In reply to: Converting imported “old blogger” permalinksclicknathan: I am talking about links to other posts in the blog. Since I’m a techno bonehead, if I attempt to download the SQL file, can I edit it and upload it, overwriting the old one, and things will look okay (assuming I don’t make any other changes)?
HandySolo: Problem is that the “old Blogger” Permalinks all contain “blogspot.com,” something I presume I wouldn’t want in my WP permalinks.

In reply to: Blue Horizon problem since 2.1.2Although I saw no difference between the two, I uploaded my old sidebar.php from my backup and it resolved the problem — at least for now.

In reply to: Sidebar widget problem with 2.0.6 upgradeThat’s it! The upgrade does not include the scriptaculous folder. Once I FTP’d it to the site from the copy I had downloaded it was back to normal.
It’s odd the scriptaculous folder isn’t in the upgrade since I thought the default theme that is also upgraded was “widgetized” and, presumably, would also need those files. At least the instructions should indicate that people using the Sidebar Widgets not delete that folder in the process because the instructions say to delete the /wp-includes/ folder with the exception of possibly one file.
Thank you.

In reply to: Sidebar widget problem with 2.0.6 upgradeJust after posting the above, I noticed there is a small box in the upper right hand corner similar to what normally appears on the right hand side of a Text widget in the Sidebar box. When I put the cursor over it, “Configure” pops up but nothing happens regardless of whether I double click, right click or left click on it and I cannot move it.
Viewing the site in IE7 moves the “Default Sidebar” message box to the right and reveals the it covers several widget boxes in Firefox 1.5.0.9. None of the widget boxes can be moved using IE7 either.
