In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Increase Global Password Record NumberHi Brian,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing with us your use case.
The error usually comes from a restriction from the hosting server, i.e. max_input_vars.
There are 2 solutions:
1. Increase the default value as per our tutorial above
2. Use our Password Suite extension to import your 1,200 passwords, together with its expiry and label (optional), from a CSV filePlease let us know if it makes sense to you, Brian @oneflynn.

Hi Mike,
I see. If that’s the case, can you please let us know a sample protected link?
It could be because of caching or you’re using an Nginx server which is not supported on the Free version.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Password doesn’t work on mobileHi Mike,
The reason why it looks like the redirect is already there is because your navigation is linked to https version.
If you access other pages via the http links, they do not redirect to https automatically.
Please visit this page URL to see it in action

Although this is not related to our plugin, we’re more than happy to help if you find this too technical. Feel free to drop us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com, @mikehaysom

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Password doesn’t work on mobileThanks, @mikehaysom.
I see. The reason is we redirect users back to where they come from, which is the http URL.
If that’s the case, you should force your site to redirect to https (SSL) in the first place.
https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003505112-How-to-force-your-site-to-redirect-to-https-SSL-Keeping both http and https version of your website leads to duplicate content and would hurt your site SEO badly.
Hope it helps.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Cache not workingHi @ubkma,
We understand you’re coming from regarding your traffic and solutions.
Let us try to explain it briefly again.
Caching plugins usually exclude protected pages from their caching so that the default WordPress password protected feature works well.
We’re also following their best practice to maintain compatibility across plugins.
If we are to check cookie only, people can easily bypass the protection.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Redirect URL work without passwordHi @tonyhnor,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
No, your protected pages will not be accessible without login.
The ppwp=1 parameter is for tracking purposes only. Knowing the parameter and URL doesn’t mean anything.
Our plugin will always check the entered password in the back-end.
Please let us know if it makes sense to you.
