Not out of the box. You will need to code the functionality manually. At the time of writing, you can still get events you are invited to using a proper access token which you can obtain making a get request to the API or by using the Extended Embeds Addon (aka the premium version) available here.

Hi. Your shortcode should work ok maybe if you try removing the quotes they are not strictly necessary.

The token on the premium version has a 2-month lifespan that is the maximum time for an extended token but atleast you have a neat button to refresh it ??

The premium version will set the needed token to access data from all of your pages that includes albums, events, and posts.

Guys you need to give it a try it is free for 2 weeks and yes you can cancel the subscription and still keep the plugin you don’t have to pay for something you don’t like so please try it, test it and let me know if it is working for you and if not I will make the necessary adjustments.

1. The malware was added by a Google Add, yes that can happen to anyone.
2. You can try the paid version for free for 2 weeks and cancel the subscription anytime
3. The premium version has been getting more limited since the Cambridge Analytic fiasco but it still has some of its main features like events, and full-page embed.

It was a Jetpack related thing please update to 3.0.3 the error has been fixed.

Are you using a custom template for you embeds?

It’s hard to know what is happening without an error or something like it. Maybe you can set WP_DEBUG to true on your wp-config.php file and test again if there is an error it should show, then, you can paste the error here so that we can figure out what is happening.

This plugin does not set any custom cookies however it does enqueue the Facebook SDK JavaScript I think you could customize whatever thing you are using to make the “comply” to register and unregister the script.

If it helps the option is in wpemfb_options['enq_fbjs'] if set to the string ‘false’ it will not register the script.

In theory, if the user has already agreed with FB policy it would already have a cookie used by the SDK, so maybe you don’t need to do anything on preventing the cookie just adding a warning on the privacy page would do. I don’t really know what the right answer is if you find a definitive one, plz share.

Just to make things clear you can still embed a list of your page events using this shortcode

What is no longer possible is to embed a single event.

I have not disappeared I’ve just been very busy. A new version is cooking and it will be out of the oven very soon. I have no intentions of abandoning this.
