    no ideas on this?

    Johnburn: Thanks a lot man… damn you are good at this. I’m sure it’s a piece of cake for you, but to us noobs, you are a god. lol

    UPDATE, for those following my thrilling escapades….

    Doing what I will refer to as the “Price Is Right Code removal strategy”, I have narrowed down where the problem exists (I went and removed half the code at a time to figure out which half had the problem / which didn’t, then narrowed down the problem half, in half again, etc….)

    So I think I’ll be able to figure this one out. If so, I’ll update here.

    UPDATE 2: got it solved… the problem in my CSS sheet for the theme was this class:

    #subpage .content p

    It had a color and a font-size setting that overrode my other style sheet’s styling.

    Problem solved.. admins can lock this thing (sorry, no idea if I can do mark as solved, myself)

    By the way, the class names in the style sheet for WP-Note aren’t used anywhere in the theme’s style sheet either.

    Edit:

    I also just did an experiment… removed every bit of code in this theme’s style sheet and it displayed this note box properly (of course the rest of my site looked horrible, but i just wanted to test that it was the master CSS sheet in the theme causing the issue).

    Well, I got it working, but I don’t like my solution because it’s only temporary (presumably until WP updates next).

    In the comment-template.php in wp_includes folder, I changed the get_comment_link function to always build $link as so:

    $link = get_permalink( $comment->comment_post_ID );

    If anyone has any other solution that would work, please let me know. Doesn’t seem to be plug in related, as disabling them all had no effect.

    Btw, I wonder if it has to do with how the permalink structure is, or that i modified the comments per page setting in the past (within the settings in WordPress, not in some unorthodox way)

    Btw, this didn’t work. I think it looks almost like it’s not calculating the number of comments per page correctly.

    So the url should show:

    https://mysite.com/general-discussion/comment-page-39/#comment-15772

    But it actually shows:

    https://mysite.com/general-discussion/comment-page-31/#comment-15772

    Any other ideas out there?

    Oi, that sounds like a lot of fun! ?? But I know that is the right thing to do. I have tried two different themes (neither are the default though). But I’ll try deactivating things and see what happens.

    WordPress uses Gravatar for avatars. So you go to https://www.gravatar.com and associate an avatar picture with an e-mail address. Everytime you use any wordpress based-blog with that e-mail address attached to the wordpress account, you’ll see your gravatar.

    Hopefully what I said makes sense. I personally find it a little odd and not straightforward enough for the average user, but it works.

    Oh man, see I knew it was something trivial. Thank you!

    btw, where my comment.php file has this:

    <div class="alignleft"><?php previous_comments_link() ?></div>
    		<div class="alignright"><?php next_comments_link() ?></div>

    You can replace it with:
    <?php paginate_comments_links(); ?>`

    Here is a sample from my comments file as an example, but there’s more than one way to do it, of course (and I apologize for including my whole file, but not sure what all you need):

    <?php
    	if (!empty($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']) && 'comments.php' == basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']))
    		die ('Please do not load this page directly. Thanks!');
    	if ( post_password_required() ) { ?>
    		<p class="nocomments">This post is password protected. Enter the password to view comments.</p>
    	<?php
    		return;
    	}
    ?>

    <!-- Start editing here. -->
    <?php if ( have_comments() ) : ?>
    	<h3 id="comments"><?php comments_number('No Comments', '1 Comment', '% Comments' );?> to “<?php the_title(); ?>”</h3>
    	<ol class="commentlist">
    	<?php wp_list_comments('type=comment&callback=theme_comments'); ?>
    	</ol><BR />
    	<div class="navigation">
    		<div class="alignleft"><?php previous_comments_link() ?></div>
    		<div class="alignright"><?php next_comments_link() ?></div>
    	</div><BR />
        <?php else : // this is displayed if there are no comments so far ?>
    	<?php if ('open' == $post->comment_status) : ?>
    		<!-- If comments are open, but there are no comments. -->

    	 <?php else : // comments are closed ?>
    		<!-- If comments are closed. -->
    		<p class="nocomments">Comments are closed.</p>
