Hmmm I’ve never seen that happen before. Sounds like your site may have been compromised. There shouldn’t be any user with “admin” capabilities that you did not create.

Hi David,

With the WP update to 3.8.1 I decided to go back and try to get your plugin to work again. Honestly I do like the plugin and while the other plugin I installed worked. It does lack a lot of extra features I had with UD. So I deactivated, uninstalled UD and did a new install after I updated to 3.8.1.

Yes I’m aware of where UD should get the email address. My email address is listed in the Settings>General on both sites. For whatever reason UD doesn’t recognize it on one of the sites.

Thanks for answering it’s appreciated. I’ll mark this resolved only because I’ve already installed an another back up plugin. I just don’t have a lot of time to go back and forth. Will give UD another try in the future.

@wdaleytucson 2ninerniner2 is correct. You need to wait for your domain name to propagate. Once it resolves your site will be ready. Not sure why GoDaddy takes so long. I used to use them for domains and hosting a few years ago but had too many issues. Now my domains resolve within a couple of hours at the most.

Hi there thanks for your reply.

When I updated the plug in…it updated and I got the usual message that it had been updated and activated. But when I clicked on another link within my Admin area I got a “fatal error” message that included “ready backup plugin” as the source for the error. Sorry I did not make a copy of the error.

I was unable to access any area of my admin. All links would bring up the same error. Nor would my site come up. So I had to go to my server and manually remove your plugin. Once I did that everything now works as normal.

I’m not using any of the plugins @simonalmstrom is using so not sure if a plug in conflict is the issue or not.

Plug ins I am using are:

WordPress Version 3.7.1

Wordfence
iDangerous MoOver
Wordpress Importer
Page Expiration Robot
WP Leads Explosion

I hope this helps. Will check back for any updates.

Also I appreciate the offer to fix the problem but I really don’t have time to deal with it I need to get things done. So for now I’ll have to go with another solution and try your plug in again in the future as I think it’s a really good plugin that’s easy to use. Obviously, it seems to be causing the same issues with the back-end admin area for others as well. I’m sure you’ll figure out.

One more thing…I opted out of using Dropbox due to unsafe file permissions that must be set in order to make it work.

You can find your back-ups on your server if you choose not to use Dropbox
