We’ve found the solution to this!
We enabled debug in plugin settings and found this message:

? ? ? ? ? ? [message] => Unauthorized
? ? ? ? )

Despite the fact that in API settings in AppleNews and in plugin KEY ID and SECRET are the same, AppleNews did not authorise the plugin. We've re-generated the KEY ID and SECRET and now it works.
We experienced this problem after there were some problems with AppleNews on iCloud.com. Obviously, after these problems Apple lost part of credential database....

I’ve noticed you’ve updated the theme and also updated it.
Seems like the errors in Google Search Console are disappearing. Now I see only missed “author” hentry tag and only those detected end of January, i.e. new posts are scanned but no errors are detected.
