@jamesosborne If you see the console from Chrome developers tool, it shows this message:
[amp-auto-ads] No ad placements found for publisher ID ‘ca-pub-4252003072115563’. Check that the provided publisher ID is correct.
I have the same problem. I don’t know if waiting would solve it, as I’ve seen many users with similar problems not solved yet.
@hendryanggriawan For now, I manually added AMP ads and they work without delay.
