The error was with Genman WordPress Theme 1.1 by Myo Kyaw Htun. He’s updated it to 1.2.

Thank you SO much – that’s exactly right – your pattern noticing is spot-on and it WAS a bug in the theme code. I contacted the creator and they have a new version now – many, many, many thanks.

Well, you just answered my question, quickly and succinctly – many, many thanks. I didn’t see a login page on that page, but when I went to the WordPress dashboard and logged out, I saw what you saw: the correct number of archived articles: two. Many thanks once again! ??
